It's true, in terms of decision making, arm strength, and the type of accuracy he displays...Bradford is extremely talented...the fact there's teams offering first round picks for him even with his injury history proves that...hell we were able to get a "pro bowl" QB who had a 1m dollar salary and a 2nd rounder for him even though he tore his ACL again

I will agree to disagree with you on this too. Sam was good but I don't think he was extremely talented.

I repeat. All we need to know about Jaws eval skills is this, "I truly believe Colin Kaepernick could be one of the greatest quarterbacks ever," Jaworski said Wednesday on ESPN. "I love his skill set. I think the sky's the limit."

And everyone should remember that Jaworski left the Rams on bad terms. He was pissed that they didn't start him in the playoffs and started Haden instead(they should have started Jaws he was better) So, Jaworski really resented the Rams coach and GM for the decisions, and he finished his contract and signed with the Eagles and went on to have a good career with the Eagles.

I really disagree with this statement. I never have felt that Sam had good movement in the pocket. He far too often moved into sacks or just stood there letting the sack come to him. He had very little awareness of the rush and at times had too much awareness of it. He also totally ignored wide open holes that he could have run through far too often or checked down or through out of bounds with space in front of him. I agree that he has good arm strength and can be very accurate most of the time.

I also recall Jaws saying that Sam was shell shocked a few years ago and that once you get to that point it is hard to get over it.

I just think that all of the praise is a bit overblown when he hasn't played a snap in nearly two years and never played for Chip Kelly. But whatever they want to spin, he is their injury waiting to happen now. I don't want to go back to being in that situation.

I actually went back and looked up what he said in the 2013 rankings. He had Braford ranked low #22, but essentially said all of the same things.

I'll give him a pass on this one, but he still has to live down that Kaeprnick shit.

Two of the three things you mentioned there are things that many analysts bring up as weaknesses of his. We disagree about Bradford, and if he actually WAS what some people like to romance him into being the Rams not only wouldn't be letting him go (injuries or not) they would have extended his contract.

But he isn't those things people want him to be, unfortunately for both him and us fans.

He simply doesn't recognize blitzes very well and he has poor peripheral vision, and therefore doesn't see rushers coming at him. He just doesn't know how to avoid a rush and make something out of a play that is breaking down. Yes, he has a great arm and he makes the high percentage throws, but he needs everything to be going right for him to succeed. And we all know that just doesn't happen that often in the NFL.

I agree that he didn't seem to have great pocket awareness. That and his unwillingness to push the ball down field more were the only things holding him back (aside from the injuries of course).

However, the guy could recognize blitzes, but half of the time he was working with WR so green that they didn't adjust their route and he was forced to take a sack

Former Philadelphia Eagles coach Dick Vermeil defended current coach Chip Kelly and his bold moves this past week.

Vermeil known as a players coach, said Kelly's game plan is 'thinking out of the box' and that his critics will eventually 'eat crow.'

“You gotta trust your leader and I trust this guy just like I trusted Andy Reid. I’m excited about what he’s doing and I’m glad he’s brave enough to make these bold moves.”

“His track record,” Vermeil said, via CBS Local.

“I think his first two years, you know, he wins football games and does a very good job. His offense is outstanding. They’ve played pretty good defense without enough good football players on defense and his rectifying that problem. And he knows that. I just think, I’ll go back to the word, trust him. Respect him. Get after him when you don’t like him, when he does something wrong because we don’t do it right all the time. I kinda believe somewhere down the road, everybody that has been very critical of him is gonna have to eat crow.”

His decision making is terrible. It's the main thing, besides injuries, holding him back. But maybe Chip Kelly can fix that?
