Anyone have any info on why he’s been consistently inactive?

I’m a bit surprised he hasn’t been getting at least a few carries at this point.

Fairly ridiculous if you ask me. Without looking, I'd guess all RB's drafted anywhere near Hunter have had carries. RB's translate fairly well to the NFL as rookies. No reason he was not activated last week and finished the blow out with carries.

McVay isn't going to have a third RB who can't do everything... run scheme, pass block, and play special teams. He clearly isn't up to par on one of those. Is what it is.

I’d like to see the kid too. What we have with Williams and Corum is working… so one could argue is a luxury to groom his game from the sideline right now.

But Corum got 58 touches as a rookie and that probably helped him considerably to be ready for a larger role this season.

Where would you be expecting him to get snaps right now? Kyren and Corum have been the main duo and McVay is clearly content with them.

Whatever the reason McVay must think he's not ready. He was a 4th round pick so its not like he was a lock his rookie year.

Hunter’s red shirt year. Im over it. My eyes are already on drafting an elite guy next year that can’t be ignored. Stafford will have a Love affair in 2026 and see his career extended.
I see what you did there

We used a high draft pick on him - I’d like to see him get involved. He was supposedly going to be a home run threat, something we don’t have with our current RBs.

So I’m a bit disappointed that we haven’t been able to get him involved, even though I’ve been mostly pleased with how Kyren and Corum are playing.

This is the standard template for McVay in most positions. Puka was the exception due to Kupp's injury and Puka's skill.

McVay almost never plays rookies much unless the position is thin. Hunter will be next years option for standout.

Obviously the answer is blitz pick-up. If he can't do that, it doesn't matter if he's a home run threat. RBs who can't pass block are a tell to the D when theyre in the game.

He was a day 3 pick, a 4th rounder. Not a high draft pick
He'll get his chance, just no need right now with how successful the running game has been
