If Miami will pickup a big part of the money owed Ramsey, and Ramsey is willing to play safety I’d be game.
Well, Miami will automatically be paying approx. $25 mil of his contract since that's the pro-rated bonus amount and trading teams must pay that.

Consequently, Ramsey would only be a cap hit of approx. $10 mil in 2025 if the Rams traded for him.

I believe they would have to pay this too:

I'm assuming you don't remember the 2023 off season as much as the Rams were trying to work with the salary cap and that was one of the moves they had to do to get by. hence McVay's comment, since then things have changed, it's two years longer and he's had a meniscus issue. Father time is catching up with him and it makes zero sense trading for an old, expensive CB especially in our current situation where we have zero glaring holes going into the draft.
I was simply countering your statement that the Rams ‘Got out of that situation’ implying they wanted to part ways with Ramsey. McVay has since said he would have liked to keep him.

I just looked at OTC and it didn't show that.

Looking at Spotrac it looks like an option bonus that's also pro-rated because in the cap breakdown there is a category of "Option Proration".

I don't think that $18.98mil is all being paid in 2025. If it was, a salary cap hit of $16.66 mil wouldn't make sense.

Wanting him vs wanting his contract are two different things. It doesn't appear they are too interested in 30 yr old guys who demand $20M plus a year at this point in this teams roster development.

McVay said in hindsight, they could have kept Ramsey. It sounded like he regretted trading him.

That contract this year was beyond stupid, and the Dolphins are proving it by trying to trade him now. Buyers remorse. If he gets released I think the Rams would be checking in.

Ramsey wasn't that impressive that last year with us. I'd rather go for a new stud in the draft.

You sure he wasn’t that impressive?

In the 2022 NFL season, Jalen Ramsey played for the Los Angeles Rams, where he earned his sixth Pro Bowl nomination and was ranked 36th in the NFL Top 100 Players. He started all 17 games and recorded a career-high 88 combined tackles, 18 passes defended, four interceptions, two sacks, and two forced fumbles. Ramsey was also graded an 86.4 by Pro Football Focus, ranking him third among all cornerbacks.

He also single handily beat the Falcons with an amazing leaping interception in the endzone

I love how transparent Les and Mcvay are lol. Most teams would not tell you that they've discussed a trade with this amount of honest.
Well he didn’t say trade - just a reunion. He could just as well be meaning that if Ramsey gets cut and is willing to come on a low deal.

But why would he have to talk to Miami about that? Snead said he's talked to the dolphins.

If Miami were to cut Ramsey and he returns on the cheap I would be fine with it. But I think that ship has sailed. He hasn't been the same dude he was back when he had makeup speed. Now when his eyes get him in trouble he's fucking toast. And it happens too much for my liking. Also I detest the way he's always looking to blame someone else even when his ass gets BBQ'd.

Definitely in the "let's draft a corner" group on this one.
