".......it also sets another new mark: this will be the 11th straight NFL season in which Cousins’ contract will be fully guaranteed......."

Man, that dude has been earning nice jack for over a decade. He's averaged 14 games per year over those first 10 seasons (77-63-2) 251 TDs 101 Int.....97.9 rating. ...... but just 4 postseason games over those 10 years (1-3). Does he envision the Raiders getting to postseason? With him? Or with Mendoza?

Your basically stating what I said. Although I personally think some teams may believe it is more likely (even in the slightest amount) that we lean taking Simpson as we have no back up QB currently. You can and will have your own opinion on that, I also have one.

We shall see, but I bet Jimmy G doesn't sign until after the draft.
Yes but having no backup currently has very little to nothing to do with Simpson. Everyone knows we are either bringing back Garoppolo or signing another veteran. Drafting Simpson knocks out Bennett.

Other than Garoppolo, who is out there at this point.
Good question. I am thinking about it as i type and there's not many obvious answers. Uhh, Carr? Tyrod? Winston? O 'Connell? Richardson? You are correct in calling me out on this.

Feel strongly Garoppolo is coming back, WHO'S paying him anything substantial after he just sat 2 years???

Tyrod Taylor is currently a free agent but I don't believe any of the other four are free agents.

Certainly not Winston (Giants), O'Connell (Raiders) or Richardson (Colts). Also believe Carr remains the property of the Saints. Some of them may be available provided the Rams give-up a draft choice.

If you are talking unrestricted free agents, other than Taylor, its Cooper Rush, Russell Wilson, Brandon Allen, Jeff Driskel, Easton Stick, Brett Rypien and John Wolford.

If you are going to throw-up, remember Elaine Benes' advice ... TURN ...

You are correct Flatlyner, there is definitely a scenario where the Quarterbacks are

1. Stafford
2. Bennett
3. Simpson

I spoke too soon

Yes but even if they're not free agents they are probably easily attainable. Close to the same thing. I'm pretty sure Jimmy G will be our QB2 once again.

I don't know about that.

Giants are not going to move Winston. They love him behind Dart; and he is happy in New York ... aren't you from NY? Winston is having a blast.

Richardson is intriguing because of his athleticism but would not be a viable back-up in 2026.

O'Connell? Maybe? But I don't know the Raiders would take a late 6th round pick; and the Rams don't have a 4th or 5th. If Vegas wants to move him, guessing they could do a little better than the Rams' #207 overall.

Car might cost more than that; and would he want to come-out of retirement to be a lower-paid back-up?

I don't see any good options after Garoppolo.

Agree with that. I really think Jimmy G will be back.

If we failed to bring back Garoppolo, I'd be fine with Russell Wilson.

Yes A2M, I'm from New York City. Wasn't really sure about Winston's status, but yes he is the clear backup here. Had forgot about Russell Wilson until you pointed him out. He would be acceptable to me if we didn't land Jimmy G back.

Have you seen him play recently?
He's awful.
Lost what little arm strength he had, and also lost a step with his feet
Saw him up close here with New York Giants I wouldn't say he's washed just yet. I'd rather have Garoppolo but after Jimmy who's the next best vet out there?

I watched him with the Giants also and saw a washed up guy, Winston was far superior
Wilson is slow as shit now and couldnt throw an out pattern
Not sure what games you watched, other than the Dallas game he didnt resemble a starting QB
And predictably he blew the Dallas game
