Rating solely on special teams prowess and performance (i.e. if you're going to rate a guy like LeRoy Irvin, it should be solely as a PR, as opposed to including his contributions as a CB), is Johnny Hekker the greatest Rams special teams player of all time?

Other contenders... Jeff Wilkins, Ron Brown, Frank Corral, Greg Zuerlein, Bob Waterfield...

Has Hekker reached the top of this mountain?

Hekker is the best punter is Ram History as to best special team player of all time IMO, Henry Ellard, Leroy Irvin & Ron Brown would rank up there as well.

Hhhmmm...forgot about that. Kicked 'em into the playoffs in '83 against the pre-Asshole Face Saints.
I remember that game like it was yesterday, Saints had a chance to make playoffs for first time ever, that Lansford kick was the first points the offense generated all game in the 26-24 win

Easily the best punter. I still think Wilkins is the best overall player.

He was the 1st one I thought of...

But then I had a flashback to seeing that woman...

aka our previous owner... seek Lansford out on the sidelines pregame and kiss him. One time I saw her kiss the poor guy directly on the lips.

Soooooo.... can’t do it. Too disgusted.

Showing my age...I loved Corral. Dude kicked AND punted at the end of his career.

Lets see the rest of those sissies do that...!
Yeah, but I kicked with half a foot ~ Tom Dempsey

On memory alone, I believe the Rams' TDs came on interception returns by Nolan Cromwell and John Johnson and ... befitting a thread on Special Teams, a punt return by rookie Henry Ellard.

Did Jack Youngblood have a sack / safety? I got to look it up!

That was a favorite game and season for me because I did not expect much in 1983 after a two-win / strike-shortened 1982 and loads of new faces. No way Jack Youngblood could play 3-4-DE I thought. I was fantastically-wrong and thrilled about it.

In the Playoffs, the Rams went to Dallas and beat the evil-Cowboys. Another great memory.

I got to go look it up!
