Don Criqui (play-by-play) and Bob Trumpy (color commentator). Was that Pat Haden doing the color commentary? Or Bob Griese?
On a serious note, am I the 1st ROD member to post "C'est La Vie".
If so, shouldn't there be some type of Prize?

It was Marv Albert and Bob Griese.Don Criqui (play-by-play) and Bob Trumpy (color commentator).
Yes, I had to look it up; it was almost five years before I was born.
It was Marv Albert and Bob Griese.
Albert has a very distinctive voice. It took me a few listens and some research on 1980s NBC NFL broadcast pairings to confirm it was Griese with Marv.Fair enough. I wasn't born at that time, so I wouldn't know the commentators. I'll say you're right.
So in the winter time, when you really WANT soup….Little meaningless trivia ... and, then I will stop.
I used to work near the real Soup Nazi place, and frequently went there for lunch ... before the episode.
It really was great soup!

View attachment 76075 ... I post this only because the Jambalaya really was incredible.
This definitely reflects the Younger Posters from the Old Timers (that would be us) because all five of the broadcasters mentioned (Haden, Trumpy, Criqui, Marv Albert and Griese) had distinct voices and styles that you and I (and a couple other elderly ROD members) heard many times over many years. It was Marv Albert and Bob Griese.
Pipe tobacco actually. My dad smoked a pipe one day a year (Christmas Eve). It was Prince Albert tobacco in a tin can.Prince Albert was a brand of chewing tobacco.
I'm sure one thing that is on McVay's mind is how we didn't close out games last season. Having big leads and not being able to shut the other team down. With Garrett and Donald closing out games we win all 3 against Seattle and the Philly game. Philly game should never have come down to the FG.
