I do like Nsekhe on the depth chart. He'd be a million times better as the last OT on the chart than Evans was.
Yes Sir! I hope that LT Ty Nsekhe is the #1 priority OL UFA to resign. Snead signed TN to the MR53 on 10/18/22. He served the Rams team well for 10 weeks. When Noteboom went down to injury TN served as the LT backup for Alaric Jackson for 3 games. TN started 6 gms @ LT when Jackson went down & he did not return.

TY Nsekhe will soon be 38 yrs old but he does not have much wear on his tires. The Rams are facing a very big question mark on the health of Noteboom's rehab & just how long it will take to get him back to where he can be cleared to play. I am thinking it will be after the bye before we see Noteboom in uni on the sideline.

Rams training staff & Carberry will know if TN is still able to muster out one more season in the NFL as the top reserve LT or even the top swing OT for the Rams in 2023.

If TN is resigned before another team sucks him up would provide the Rams to get consider utilizing 2nd year Swing OT AJ Arcuri as a 2023 reserve swing OG prospect. They could work him hard in OTA's & Training Camp boosting up the OG reserve shelf. Carberry did work with Rookie Arcuri @ OG some in TC but he was having issues due to his 6-7 320 plus lbs over 34-inch arms & over 11-inch hands. Arcuri has always been a swing OT in college.

Does anyone think that OT's Max Pircher or AJ Arcuri as being is capable of being the Rams starting LT for #9?

Well, maybe Carberry gives his opinion on his exit interview but someone else will have to get up to speed probably with no prior knowledge.

Pircher has had plenty of time to learn and hopefully they have kept him around because he has “something”.

It would be great to get the staff built so they can start evaluating what they need/want and start discussing trade possibilities. The FA market looks poor.

I am hopeful that the new OL coach coming in will identify a gem or two in the draft he can work with as pipeline types. We have to get the OL pipeline right. That's really the one thing that is shitting on McVay's consistency here. Rams have not drafted well at those positions.

Not sure if I saw this on this forum on on Twitter... I captured the pic. If it was posted here, my apologies.

This just shows that we have a lot of room to restructure. I did notice the Eagles have no room to restructure because they kicked the can down the road a lot of late. They have many players with void yrs on their contracts and will be counting against their cap for 2 - 3 yrs. And they now have to pay Hurts.

Carberry I have been calling for his head, until you see the smoke clear from the WRECK it’s hard to see what is the damage really is.

Like I said weeks ago about letting players play & see who steps up. ODAY was the player out when Shelton it Allen came back. Matt Skura got the start at LG. Oday was BENCHED!!

I guess can The Rams bring any of those 2 players back ? I’m different than most when it comes to The Offensive Line. I don’t like building through the draft with a lot of offensive linemen. My reasoning is YOUTH!! MEN vs Young men. Difference in Size & Speed in The NFL. There is a lot that goes into it.
—Then again you have to use the tools of the draft. IMO I wanted to trade up for Lance Dickerson. Then when Creed Humpries fell to The Rams THE VALUE WAS SO HIGH!! ESPECIALLY a POSTION of NEED!!

Right now I wonder about Matt Skura. He is a Bigger Center who can play Guard. That is a PLAYER-TYPE The Rams have been missing. He might be worth a basic FA contract that if nothing else cut & keep practice squad ??

Oday is a player that believes in himself,so he might be a fit until Bruss is ready. The thing is The Rams needed to stay 1 year ahead(2 years).

My point is going to be The Best way to structure The Offensive Line & not waste draft picks The Rams don’t have.

The Rams need to build a foundation from within now & let The Draft come to them.An example is even if it is a talent like A’Jackson. Picking up those players & developing them is KEY.
Ty Nseke could be a stop gap type of player.Sign him & try to DRAFT a LT/RT of the FUTURE!!

Basically The Rams need to Draft or find Big Rob’s replacement NOW!! What is Havienstien future with The Rams ?
Noteboom is so questionable & IMO A’Jackson is a RG who can play LT,but is not a every down LT.

Injuries happen,I’ve been filtering through this as weeks have been passing. The smoke is clearing & The Rams have 2 weeks left to let the Dust Settle for 2023 to see what’s what?

Carberry has (should)a handle on it Big Rob know his teammates & what the bond is like.Sometimes you don’t really need new parts.

F” CARBERRY. Just glad Mcvay FIRED him ! IMO he had to take a lot of the blame.

Sounds more of a emotional rant and not a rational one. If Evans for example was a failure he has been here longer than Carberry has, how was he still a part of this team? The OL injuries are hardly the fault of Carberry, you must just have a vendetta against the man personally…

You answered your own question. How could you keep playing Bobby Evans over any Ram lineman?
Why didn’t he get cut earlier.

There is a lot more responsibility than you may think.Training also is a part of it.Scouting as well.If you’re an honest coach you have to be able to stamp your foot every so often. Be able to improve the talent you were given.
CAREBERRY is FIRED!! Emotional rant or not ? It still feels good he is gone & Mcvay is back.
Actually wondering what will happen & changes that are made.I did see The Rams concepts change though with how the Lineman work inside.

I would hope the odds are we won't see the crazy amount of injuries we saw this past season. But another thought creeps in my mind. What if we have a lot of injury prone players on the offensive line? What if we keep seeing more injuries because that is who we have?

We know Noteboom and Allen have a history with injuries. That is 40 percent of the starting line. Edwards had a bad enough concussion to miss a lot of games. What if he's prone to that? If so, now its 60 percent of the starting line.

They really have to evaluate the depth. And assume guys are going to go down. They need to be better prepared for it than they were.

It may be what many will call a preliminary assessment but your question
What if we have a lot of injury prone players on the offensive line?
The Rams signed contracted 2023 OL'ers:

Noteboom [Starter]
Allen [Starter]
Anchrum [Starter]
Jackson [Starter]
Bruss

All of the above were on the IR or not healthy enough to play. All played less than half a season. Starter Shelton missed 7 games too. Only one starter remained on the field Havenstein & only one reserve AJ Arcuri played 7 games. Zac Thomas 1 gm. & Pircher was never active.

There is no question in my mind. I would argue that the Rams do have an injury-prone OL unit under contract for 2023.

Noteboom & Allen have been injury prone. And they will be.....until they're not. Just like Rodger Saffold. Played 16 games his rookie season then was injured 4 of the next 5 years, missing a total of 31 starts. And then he wasn't injury prone, missing 4 starts his next 7 years. So over the first 6 years of his career he was injury prone and over the last 7 years he was not. Why? Was he injury prone or wasn't he? And he was considered by some Ram fans as our biggest loss in free agency during the McVay era. #2 behind Von Miller to others.

Having said that, I DO NOT trust Allen's knee. I think his knee injuries are chronic. Swelling, fluid, pain, etc. will keep him missing games. Like Gurley's knee. He needs to be released after free agency and the draft...after June 1st to save about 4.6 mil in cap space.

Will they sign a UFA for the OL? Or 2?
Will they draft an OL? Or 2?
They will, without a doubt, sign a couple UDFA OL.

Signed on the 2023 roster: Noteboom, Jackson, Shelton, Anchrum, Havenstein, Bruss, Arcuri, Z. Thomas and Allen. And it should not be difficult to re-sign Brewer.

Seems like most injury prone players remain injury prone. Saffold is probably an outlier. For every one of him there are droves of guys who are driven from the league due to misfortune from either the injuries or the genetic mix that invites them.

If the Rams have either Boom or Allen written on that depth chart in ink they need their heads examined. Good thing here is losing will force you to not overlook shit like that. So there will be a lot of changes as we have already seen with the coaching staff. This is a good thing. Success can breed an overlooking of problems to some extent.

Saffold had some sort of shoulder issue that caused him to be injured every year. Then he finally got it fixed (don't ask me why he took 5 years to get it fixed - no clue on that) and he has hardly been injured ever since.

Shoulder, ankle, knee.....it doesn't matter. My point was, he WAS injury prone and then he wasn't. I remember whenever he went down and the trainers came out, I say, "oh great, how long is he gonna be out now?"
