I'm sorta bummed we aren't the team getting Richardson

I've never liked Trent Richardson. Just don't like his running style. Here on the Rams, he'd be competing with Pead..

One of the many instances where I was wrong.

I applaud your humility.

When I saw this at the top of the board I was wondering what was going on. Glad to see we're just having fun - and not trading a first round pick for him. :D

For the record, I wanted to trade for Lamar Miller last year when we was sitting on Detroit's bench. He had a productive year this year with the Dolphins but I think we're fine at RB, so I'm glad we didn't trade for him either.

No use to run and hide from it. If we did that trade we wouldn't have Aaron Donald. That would have been one of the worst trades of all time.

Add me to that category! I honestly thought he was going be better than his former his fellow High School (Escambia High/Pensacola, FL) Alumni Emmitt Smith! And, while I am very still very surprised at what has happened (or, what has not happened) at the start of his career I still think he is young and he will still end
up having a good (Maybe, not great) NFL career. There is no doubt he is a very, very talented athlete who hopefully will put it all together soon. And, from the
few people that I know that know him they said he is a nice young man as well.

I still think Trent is in the wrong scheme. Think he'd be dramatically better if he was in Alabama's style ZBS with a decent OL.

In other words if he had 5 yard wide holes to run through he'd be ok LOL.

Not what I said at all. Zone blocking and man blocking are completely different and require different skillsets and different "vision" if you will. Some guys can play in both, but a lot of guys can't. It's one or the other. He's being asked to basically relearn how to play RB right now.

Also, the Colts have one of the worst lines in the NFL. Hard enough to run in the wrong scheme, even harder to run when you're being hit in the backfield and THEN you still don't know what the hell is going on in front of you.

I'm not making excuses for him, he should have done a lot better than he has even despite this, but it makes sense why he hasn't succeeded.

Here's something to consider regarding Richardson: The pick the Browns got in trade for him was the one they used to pick Manziel.

So did the Browns make a net profit off this trade?

Actually the Brownies traded UP to get Johnny Tricycle.

You're right. So they gave up Trent Richardson and a 3rd rounder.

So we can count that as the Eagles got a free third rounder. ;)

He's been the low man on the totem pole on two different teams and doesn't have a rep for being good enough.

That crappy OL in Indy is netting the other RB's 4.7 per tote and 4.5 per tote on about 150 carries . He's getting 3.3 and he got the lions share of the carries early on until they wisely benched him.

The QB is a better RB than he is, and he wil be out of the NFL in a year.

Rams dodged an arrow on this.

And the "Colts have no weapons it's all Luck getting it done" narrative is some big time media hype. That team is well stocked with weapons.

He's still out of scheme. You didn't answer a single thing I addressed. We'll have to agree to disagree, I still think in a ZBS Richardson can thrive.

I think you have Lamar possibly confused with Mikel Leshore? Lamar was a 4th round pick by the Dolphins. Leshore was the Lions 2nd Rd pick in 2012 and also out of the league 2014. He suffered a bad Achilles injury and never fully recovered. Lamar had some injury issues but when healthy he's done well.

Richardson. Man just another example. I saw he's due $3.5mil next season by the Colts regardless. Yet we see again how vital a QB like Luck is and where RG3 is right now. They didn't skip a beat picking up Dan Boom Herron after Bradshaw went down.

Ok after reading this thread I might be completely stupid on TR. Wasn't this gorr his rookie year and since has been able to earn a starting consistently and not shown it on the field?
