The Super Bowl being over - this season being officially over - gave me most of the closure I needed.

But now that the game is over and wasn't close, we are, once again, the only team who put the fear into the eventual champion. We are once again the team who, when trailing by less than 7 points late in the fourth quarter, were inside the red zone and had the momentum. And we are once again the team who everyone will talk about as 'the team that gave the (super bowl champion) the best game'.

I am tired of that. Its also the third consecutive playoff loss where we were on the road, playing a 'better' team, but I walked away feeling WE were actually the team that should have won the damn game.

We are again the team that was befallen by bad luck - fumble city in the snow, Limmer randomly whiffing on a block....Smith muffing a punt, but really it goes back to that Thursday night in Seattle....the confluence of events that transpired in the 4th quarter so unlikely, even power ball winners said 'wow that was crazy'. That game - that LUCK. That fucking LUCK in Seattle on that Thursday night is what led to this.

I am the ultimate 'don't blame the (insert an entity out of our control)' guy - and we certainly could have played better. But it was just flat out LUCK that got Seattle that win on that Thursday night. They were NOT the better team, not then, not a few weeks ago and not this year. And yes our defense SUCKED in the NFCCG - but I have to think if we are the better rested team, and that game is in LA - we win with ease. Nobody can convince me otherwise.

So while I continue to work through this - FUCK Seattle.

Now on the bright side....they aren't going to repeat. Its difficult for any team, but one without an elite QB, its going to be nearly impossible. We are going to be better next year. They have two Super Bowl wins, four appearances. We have two and five. They have a temporary small lead in the all time series - we will take it back next year.

We are going to explode next year and win the whole damn thing.

While it's true that Seattle got lucky, especially in the first game up there with the "fumble" recovery in the end zone, the thing that keeps coming back to haunt me is how sloppy we were this season. We weren't tight at all, making way too many dumb mistakes. Is that coaching or players? To me, a lot of that falls on the coaching. While I love McVay and the culture he has created, sometimes I think we need a hard ass defensive coach to make that side of the ball tougher. Were we good enough to win it all this year? Absolutely. Did we deserve it? I don't know. If we had paid more attention to the weaknesses of this team that showed up throughout the year, we'd be hoisting the Lombardi.

I hope McVay and a few other coaches (looking at you Chris) are loosing sleep - because the back end of the defense and teams need some serious attention.

I think Shula did a very good job.

McVay made a few bad decisions against the Seahawks.

The ST's is what needs an overhaul..... The only thing that got fixed was the field goal kicker.

I've been rooting for the good guys since the 60's, this last season is one of my favorite all time Ram's seasons. Going on the road and winning in frigid Chicago really helped to erase some terrible losses against the Vikings and Bears back in the day. Great season by our team.

I can honestly say we didn’t deserve it.

We got cute and instead of drafting CBs in the early rounds or a player like Emmanwori. We got cute and moved back and drafted a TE that Mcvay repeatedly tried to feed at critical times.

You want to disregard defense in early rounds cool, expect this result.

We drafted one defensive player before RD 5 with the lowest paid defense.

All things equal, we may have been the better team, but special teams plagued the Rams most of the season and special teams cost the Rams the Thursday night game (punt return for TD with 8 minutes left) and a complete comedy (but not funny) of an error on a muffed punt return likely cost the Rams the NFCCG. The defense didn't ball out, but they gave up only 20 if you don't count the free TD from the muffed punt.

And even at that, the Thursday game might not have mattered if the special teams didn't cost us the eagles game and the whiner's game shortly after that.

And even though Mevis stabilized the kicking game, his only miss all season was a 48 yarder against the shit hawks late in the 4th quarter in the Thursday night game.

If corner back and special teams is not a top priority, next season could be the same as this season.

There's a lot of big games I'm not over. So I agree, but this one just gets thrown on the old pile.

.

The season was lost when Mcvay went ultra conservative in the drive after what should have been the game winning interception against the seagulls.

The seagulls changed from dejected to pumped up in the space of a minute. The punt return for a td was the ultimate kick in the gut from that drive.

.

Seattle were (objectively) the second-best team when we played one another, but over three games, the major decisions and moments always seemed to fall their way. It hurt to watch us lose games when we outplayed them

We would have beaten the Patsies which would have been sweet revenge, instead Seattle got to redeem history

The NFL wants one or both LA teams in next year's SB at Sofi. Let's see if the breaks somehow, miraculously, fall our way? If so, I will not be complaining, because it feels like that was rarely the case since we won it

We definitely were the team who gave the last two Champions their toughest game. Two years ago the OL (C) sunk us at the most crucial time and this year special teams and defense sunk us.

We fixed the OL.

So next year it will be no surprise when they fix ST and the defense
It will come as no surprise that the team who fought the last two Champions the best, came through to win it all.

And 5 minutes after the confetti drops we greedy assed fans will be demanding they "run it back"!!.....despite knowing how difficult it was to run it once!!

How's that old Queen song begin??..."I want it all. I want it all. I want it all and I want it now!!!"

I say put the opponents in the rear view mirror then put the pedal to the metal in every game. Don’t let a bad play or 3 kill a sure fire win. We didn’t seem to have the killer instinct to pull that off this year. But in 2026 with an influx of defensive talent, 1 more offensive weapon and a settling of the shoddy STs play that should be achievable.

There was a lack of killer instinct on the part of the offense this season in big moments. No doubt about it. And you are right that moment started the chain that led to the defeat. If the offense marches and finishes there it's over.

But we got exposed big time on defense down the stretch. Every offense knew they were facing a shit lineup of cover options. So now it's gonna get fixed and I can't wait to see what it looks like.
