I remember watching him bully Trent fucking Williams a couple times during that whiner game. Pushed him into the backfield more than once and I could barely believe my eyes. Kid is legit strong af.

I like the vocal leadership role Verse has taken on this defense. Of course, nothing is better than leading by example.

Yeah, I rewound those plays and was sort of blown away.
Williams widely regarded as the best T in football and a massive guy, got pushed back. Young beat him in that game too.
Man...I wish, I wish, I wish....would love to see AD and Turner together with legit outside pressure help.

I dunno guys, I wish more that we had a guy like Brockers who could clog up the middle. V8 and BY get pressure on the edges but who keeps the qb from just running right thru the open gaps?

He says that he plays smaller than his 6' 4" Whoops.

I literally LOLed when I read that comment, knowing how astronomically far off the mark it is. V8 is already bitch-slapping veteran OTs and he hasn't even played half a season in the NFL.

And man, I just love this guy's energy - it's infectious and his his teammates must be feeding off of it already.

I think he is great and I love him on our team. I don't get the non stop talking though. He would drive me crazy if I had to listen to him at every practice and every game, on the sidelines. I would drive a pencil in my ears just to stop the noise. Don't know how that fires up the team.

For @Toothsayer - the Chris Simms review.

He has him at #3 and his review starts at 44.45.

He says that he plays smaller than his 6' 4" Whoops.

TBF, though, he was very complimentary.

That's the one. He wishes his butt protruded a bit more, but he's a Greek God.........lol...

I played with a few of those guys in high school and in JuCo. The ones that did it and couldn’t always back it up drove me nuts. The one that did it and then proceeded to win every rep got everyone on the defense playing more confident. We started feeling like bullies.

Agreed. As long as you back it up, it should fire everybody up.

It was the same story with Joey Porter. Put on 60 lbs at Colorado. Was a skinney kid in highschool. Genetics have to be there. As does work ethic.

McVay likes it. Compared him to Ramsey.

Ramsey really weaponized his naturally extroverted personality, though, didn't he ? Trying to get players going after him personally & losing touch with the football task at hand, like separating prey from the herd. Verse seems more like he's trying to lightheartedly fire up his teammates & himself. More inspiration than provocation.

I never minded either type. The ones I hated were the jerks who threw an extra knee or whispered nasty stuff about your girl/family in the pile.
