I can see McVay play the starters in the 1st half tonight and try and get a sizeable lead. He will probably sit the high end starters in the second half. Hopefully, the Rams hold on and get the win tonight.

As for week 18 game, If McVay's history is any indication, I think he sits all the high end starters and doesn't care if we are the 5 or 6 seed. IF Stafford or Puka goes down to injury (knock on wood), it won't matter if we or 5 or 6 seed, we are done.

Even if we lose tonight, if the Niners lose to the Seahawks and we win next week I believe we'd be the 5 seed because all of the Niners losses are common opponents while one of ours would be to the Eagles, thus we'd have a better record against common opponents which would come into play since we'd both be 4-2 against the division.

So the only way we rest is if we lose tonight and then the Niners beat the Seahawks.

The 5 seed is PARAMOUNT. Extremely critical. I'd be fine with McVay resting Stafford, Puka and Adams against the Cardinals but that is it.

I would play starters and try to put Atlanta out early. Then rest starters.

Not sure how Mcvay views it.

That 5 seed would be so huge. I fully expect us to go into Carolina or Tampa and pummel them.

Divisional round we are likely playing Niners or Seattle. Both of which I expect us to win.

Some good arguments from everyone.
My preference is they play every game to win until they can't play anymore.
They are guaranteed 3 more games: Tonight, next week and the wild card. Keep winning and they can guarantee 3 more games and a Championship.

The Rams might technically be the #5 or #6 seed but only because of the divisions. We are not entering the playoffs as an also-ran WC team, like we have been in some past seasons, where we never really had a chance.
We have the right HC and QB and will enter the playoffs as one of the most dangerous Wild Card teams ever.

Sounds a lot like another legendary Rams Superbowl run to me....

They have 2 games to get healthy before the playoffs. They are good enough to win without all the starters. The Playoffs count. Any team, any time, anywear, till the big one. Go, rams!

Beat Atlanta.

Rest Stafford, Nacua, Jackson, Williams, Young, Fiske, Ford vs. Cardinals (note some are due to nagging injuries).

Maybe I'm wrong, but I really believe that Rams should beat Arizona at home even with backups.
NEVERMIND.

Would you sit the starters and let them rest and heal?

Play the starters against the Falcons but sit them out for the Cards game?

Or play the starters both game to keep the momentum going?
Vs the Cards, I would start the game by emptying my bench.

I agree with your view so don’t despair and be thankful we didn’t pick up a major injury

We should be resting our starters, so despite the terribly depressing loss, I am glad Jackson and Dotson didn’t play. I would have rested Stafford, both RBs and Nacua. Now Corum has picked up a needless injury!

We even put our best players on Special Teams duty. Madness! I would have been pleased to see that in the postseason but what exactly were we playing for?
