Corum seems like what he has been so far....a solid back up sort of back.
He runs hard and is strong but isn't particularly slippery or shifty.

Anyone watching the Rams, who has watched them since day one of McVay, can clearly see how stale this offensive system has become. He has either chosen not to adapt, or is unable too. Good teams find ways to win with marginal talent at certain positions, and with injuries.

He will not have an endless leash - no one ever does.
I've watched this team for a long time. I watched them week in and week out from 2005 to 2016 when we failed to make the playoffs every single year and had nonstop losing seasons. Maybe you've forgotten those days. I haven't. Stop acting spoiled.

We don't have Patrick Mahomes or Tom Brady. We have a good QB. Because we have a good QB, we're competitive. But we also have a flawed team. We went all in on winning the Super Bowl, won it, and then paid the price for the short-term moves we made. We're still digging out of that hole. It was worth it because we won it all. McVay did a hell of a job getting us to the playoffs last year and almost knocking off a Lions team that frankly should have made the Super Bowl.

We may or may not get to the playoffs this year. We've dealt with injuries to key position that put us in a hole. We still have a shot, but it's an uphill climb. Regardless, McVay continues to be a highly effective coach. It is asinine to even consider firing him. Asshole Face went through up and down years with the Saints. He ended up leaving, and the Saints aren't better off for it. The Broncos are, however. The Eagles cut Andy Reid lose. They've done well in his absence, but who had the last laugh? I'd say the guy who has 3 Super Bowl rings and 4 Super Bowl appearances since he left.

Continue blaming McVay because we don't have the squad this year. End of the day, this franchise is far better off with McVay than it will ever be without him. And I see a lot of young and promising talent on this team. If we sure up a few spots, we'll be back in the thick of things, as long as Stafford doesn't fall off a cliff.

There needs to be a time share starting next week IMO. Really it should have been the case weeks ago. Almost every other team does it. I like KW but I do not think the difference between him and Corum is so great that Williams should be getting like 90% of the snaps. No breakaway speed. Less burst through the hole. Doesn't run as tough as Corum. Big time fumble issues. You would think I am describing a bad RB but I am not! Just highlighting there is no reason to think Williams is some sort of elite bell cow that shouldn't yield some carries. I do think his cuts in tight space are elite, and would not take him out of the game ever in the red zone. We need to run him even more there IMO. He has a good nose for the endzone with those quick cuts to find space.

Were you a Rams fan in 2019 and 2020? Some “fans” were saying the same thing about his “system” becoming stale. Then ‘21 happened. Have faith

Since day 1?
This is utter nonsense. 13 straight, non competitive losing seasons before McVay, and outside of the 5 year blip of the GSOT, they had the most losses in the 90's
He's as irreplaceable as there is
It makes you wonder if some the posters remember how bad it was with Linehan, Spags and Fisher? We are spoiled with Sean McVay.

Because McVay doesn't play TuTu Atwell more?

I'm not sure why people always reference this. McVay is a great coach, but he isn't new and he isn't the best coach in football. Staying put because you fear the past probably means it will come around for the Rams no matter how hard we wish it away.

There is a difference between Coach McVay and Offensive Coordinator McVay. People tend to be talking about one or another, but not both.

McVay is one of the best coaches in football, period. Only two HC's in Rams history have coached the team to win a Super Bowl. These coaches couldn't do it as head coach: Allen(x2), Prothro, Knox(x2), Malavasi, Robinson, Brooks, Martz, Linehan, Spagnuolo and Fisher.

Most of us regretted when Vermeil retired from the team and we would feel the same if McVay left. Getting on the shyte show, head coaching carousel every three years is about as much fun as a f*cking root canal.

The ones like that are usually bandwagoners or young and didn't experience all that BS. I am sure the Rams have a ton of fans from the McVay era. Makes sense and I like to see them but yeah they don't have perspective a lot of the time.

Hard to believe that people make it through life not seeing how great something is and focus on the bad and see things worse than it is while discounting the massive positives. Life must suck waking up with this mindset.

I love what coach has done for the organization… but maybe its getting stale. Something just aint jiving with the Rams.
The staleness is the lack of explosive play at RB, and frankly, the lack of speed at WR. Need a TRUE outside guy. Kupp is just too slow anymore. He should be slot only. Not to mention some very meh TEs.

And watching Philly and a few games, can't call a game well if you're OL isn't blocking.

Corum hasn't really busted any long runs either. Probably not until then.
Yeah, I seriously doubt Corum is the guy either. The lack of explosiveness among our skill guys is glaring. Physical? Yes. Intelligent? Yes. Competitive? Yes.

Explosive and game breaking? No.

You almost wonder if it's a scheme choice at this point. Because in 2021 the Rams signed Desean Jackson specifically because Mcvay kept getting asked if the Rams were going to prioritize more explosive threats. The 2020 team was basically a chug along offense being held to by great defense.

The fact is the money still being paid to Donald this season and Stafford's big contract have made it difficult for the team to make big plays in the free agent market. Also, the big miss on Jonah Jackson has not helped matters. This team is trending in the right direction, and I believe has a very good chance to win the NFC West.

It's always tough after a humbling defeat like this. I'm sure the Ram players and coaches are going through the same thing as us. However, life in the NFL can change quickly and I don't believe the Rams are that far away from being a great team. The defense is coming along but the offense needs a playmaker. If Gurley or Faulk or Dickerson was on this team they would be 10-1 or 9-2. Sure, they could use a better linebacker and a better corner but the offense has become very average. The line is ok, the receivers are ok, the running backs are ok, and the QB is very good. But there is no explosiveness, no real threats, no game-breakers, and no studs on offense except for Stafford. Puka and Kupp and Williams are all very good and they can win games for you but they cannot carry the team by themselves. Get a stud running back and watch the Rams go from playoff-caliber to super bowl contenders. McVay is a great coach but he tends to lean heavily on players and he has no bell cow at the moment.

They have tried. Cooks, Jefferson, DJax, Beckham jr, Tutu (Mike Evans) etc.

Cooks and Beckham worked. The other WR’s, RB’s and TE’s were getting a little more space to work it seemed to me.
