We all know Hekker is great but sit down and think about this for a minute:
- Part of the best punting unit in NFL history
-Pro Bowl Punter
-Averages 45.8 yards per punt
-8436 total punting yards
-50 punts pinned inside the 20
-Has a range to punt 68 yards
-156.3 total QBR
-Has won games as a freaking punter!
-Great sense of humor

Can't let his contribution go unnoticed.

The HOF standard in punting is Ray Guy. Any idea what his numbers were?

-42.4 yards per punt
-44,493 net punting yards
-77 yard long
-70.1 QBR
-Played 207 consecutive games

I think Hekker is comparable but very young. What do you think? @Stranger
 
A little too soon I think... but I love the kid. Has fun and is a kick-ass(pun not intended!) punter (and passer). I don't know if this is true, but I heard that he was the QB for his high school football team, and they won back-to-back state championships. The kid is an athlete!

1.049 punts, 44,493 yards and a 42.4 average. Hekker definitely has the average at the moment, he just has to keep it up. 42.4 yards a punt for 13 years isn't an easy feat. Hekker will have to keep his pace as he is for the next years.

I think Hekker has a long way to go, and I also think it would take Ray Guy type numbers and longevity to consider Hekker for the HOF. But Hekker certainly seems to be on the right trajectory. If he stay's healthy, then who knows.

FYI, I think Guy & Hekker were both former QB's?

Seriously... what a weapon he has turned out to be. Both leg and arm. He seems like one hell of a cool/funny Dude on top of it all. I think we should keep him. Hahahaha

He did play QB in his younger days.
