That’s called PTSD. And a lot of us are still going thru that on FG attempts. He was good, but my balls still went into my stomach every time the long snapper snapped the ball.

I disagree. I think most of his kicks were center-cut. He made Karty look like a blind man.I thought his kicking was only "accurate enough'.
A lot of his kicks were good, but off-centre. Not many "right down the middle."
The best kickers almost always put them right down the middle .
That's what I want to see in a kicker.

I concur, Mevis was dead on with his extra points and many kicks you knew were good right from the outset. Again, no kicker is dead solid perfect all of the time, but Mevis missed only one FG, albeit a big one, but made one too and against the Seahawks was perfect plus from 50 yards as well.I disagree. Mine too, but, after a bit it was more about a potential breakdown blocking than his kicking. He was good, but my balls still went into my stomach every time the long snapper snapped the ball.
I don’t think the Rams drop Evans but that is a decent cap savings. At the very least, the new ST regime needs to assess the punt coverage woes and decide if Evans was part of the problem (punt return TD, blocked punt, good angle kicks but hang time not so good, etc.). And if so, what would it take to fix it.I wonder if they move on from Evans? I doubt it, but he has a $3.6M cap hit. A release only results in $27K of dead cap. He was one of the 23' draft class that got rewarded with an automatic pay raise based on hitting certain metrics. Would they take a shot on another rookie punter, considering Evans wasn't all that great during the 2nd half of the season?
If you always kick right down the center you will get your kicks blocked!I thought his kicking was only "accurate enough'.

Has anyone assessed that his time to kick has diminished resulting in quicker/lower kicks (less hang time/more prone to blocks)?Man, Evans is an interesting case I'd like to know more about. At the start of his career he was looking like another amazing weapon with his hang time and placement and then it feels like last two years he's been really inconsistent.
