We'll just have to score before we get down that far.

Be like the 2000 Rams ... offense couldn't be stopped by anyone but themselves, defense couldn't stop anyone.
Our D has been decimated, and so far there's not much reason to hope the O will be good either. We resigned Shelton...and... that's about it.

You guys remember the 3rd-and-1 stuff that set-up the 4th-and-1 in the Super Bowl?

Despite having about 4,000 camera angles, the incompetent duo of Al Michaels and Chris Collinsworth gave ALL the credit to Aaron Donald. However it was the combination of Donald and Gaines side-by-side, each getting one arm around Perine to stop him short of a first down, and set-up the fourth down play.

I really liked that fat bastard.

I am a big Gaines fan. He played hurt the entire season. tore his labrum and his bicep tendon in preseason and played the entire season. I think the Rams wanted him to do that and he did. Hurt his production and value and even interest in him with everyone know he had shoulder surgery a couple days after the last game. That kind of loyalty and team first grit wasn't rewarded by the Rams though. I'll bet he won't do that again!
He'll do it again because he's goddamn Grizzly Bear Gaines. I'm glad he got a payday though, he deserved it. :part:

There's zero ounce of me that trusts any defensive calls on and off the field with Raheem.

Dudes been a dud everywhere he's been.

Larrell Murchison is the new bargain basement Gaines. They think he can replace the impact player like Gaines? The Rams are going with a 3 year guy who has yet to prove himself a starter? I doubt it but I'm willing to wait and see. Lance Zierlein compared him to Tanzel Smart if so then he's a downgrade to Greg Gaines.

So Morris wants to use Bobby Brown on early run downs then rotate Murchison in on passing down? Bobby Brown doesn't make the stops that Gaines made in the Super Bowl. Maybe someday but then again maybe never. Hopefully Murchison lives up to expectations and becomes an impact player.

I don't think we're nearly down that far, despite the pain of losing some guys we would have liked to keep. Yes, our D is going to take a big hit, and our offense will have to score like Brad Pitt on viagra in a house full of drunk, horny sorority chicks.

That being said, even with the OL we have now, if they maintain a modicum of decent health, we can see our offense improve.
If Stafford is healthy.

I have zero hopes for a backup to do well

Caleb, would you like an office in SOFI like Wussel Wilson got in Denver too?

I am trying really hard to figure out a word that rhymes with Caleb that is appropriate for this situation
Downhill for Ca( y)Will is the closest I can think of. Crash for Caleb is catchier.

McVay and Snead are both smart and ultra-competitive. Of course they have a plan. But right now it's hard to see what the hell it is.

I initially thought the plan was for a "last hurrah" with Stafford and AD in 2024. But now I'm wondering if they're looking beyond the retirement of those two.
