I think the Rams are set at RB, they need another CB and another OLBer.

If you think the Rams are set with the JAGs at RB, then they are also set at CB in OLB.

They’re not set at any of those positions. Our running game causes nobody to lose sleep…except maybe our own coaching staff

Pretty much the truth. Henry and Kyren would be a pretty damn good 1-2 punch. Gives us a better shot at getting to the post-season and keeping the heat off of Stafford.

It really hurts that we lost winnable games to Pitt and Cinci. If we were 5-2 now, you'd do that trade in a heartbeat and try to make a deeper playoff run. We hung with the 49ers and Eagles and a little bit more could put us over the top.

Why trade for a RB on the back 9? He's not king Henry anymore. If the rams were to scoop him up I would be really disappointed in mcvay

I'm adverse to spending draft capital at this stage. We aren't one or two players away from making a deep playoff run. This season is about developing our young players. It will be awesome if we can make the postseason while doing it, but any moves we would make *now* should also help us next season.

Henry is on the last year of his deal. Renting for 9 games to get a better shot at a WC berth doesn't cut it. He'd have to come with an extra season (at a reasonable price).

I don't think we need Derrick Henry at this point, but he would be nice to have. I've always said, if I was a mad scientist in a lab creating a running back, it would end up looking like Derrick Henry. Mwa ha ha.

I dont understand this line of thinking. We played the 2 best teams in the NFC and went toe to toe with each of them. I certainly think that a certain player or two could have changed the outcome of those games. Along with play calling etc
This team could easily be 5-2, but even as is, I wouldnt look at a match up against any team in the NFC and think, we've got no shot

Fournette is out there.
All he does is produce.

He’s a bruiser and could help wear down other defenders.

We wouldn’t have to give up anything for him.

Is this team anything close to the 2021 team at this point in the season?

After week 7, we were 5-2 (with wins over the Cowboys, Bills and Eagles) when we traded for Von Miller and then signed OBJ.

We were already loaded and we were still literally two guys away - we needed both of them to get that SB.

Who cares about 2021? This team can compete with any other team in 2023.

Sometimes we compete with good teams and lose, sometimes we compete with bad ones and lose. So far we have beat one team with a winning record (and that was back in week 1). At some point you are who your record says you are.

We might sneak into the playoffs with nine or ten wins, but Vegas doesn't think we are going anywhere. The sportsbooks put our SB odds at 75-1 (and that feels generous).

My point is that any move we make has to make sense for next season. Giving up draft capital for a nine game rental of Derrick Henry probably isn't worth it.

The key with Henry would be him understanding he isn't going to be guranteed a high carry count. We don't need another back sulking and that is his biggest risk.

But I love this offense with a power threat in the backfield. Been wanting that since CJ.

Looks like I missed what you were saying, my bad. I may disagree that the Rams aren't a player or two away from being a serious contender, but I wholeheartedly agree that Derrick Henry isnt a player who would make that difference

What does he produce?

Seriously. I’m the playoffs he’s a monster, in the regular season he leaves a lot to be desired

Henry's remaining cap hit is more than the space the Rams have. Other moves/restructures would have to take place. That said add me to the people hesitant to add him even with him only signed through this year.
At age 29? Yes, he's a unicorn but Father Time is 1) Brutally harsh with RBs and 2) Undefeated.

No fucking way they should make a move for him at this point.

The past 2 seasons?

Around 15 tds, 2500 total scrimmage yards with around 150 receptions.

He doesn’t need to carry the full load, but at 6’ - 228 lbs, he could help wear down defenses in the run game and pass game.

All I’m saying is, bring him in for a workout and see what he can do. He’s only 28 and hasn’t been worked as hard as a player like Henry.

Focus on 4he most important needs - OLB and LT in that order. We are 29th in sacks we had almost 300 yards running the ball the last two weeks. And last week was with guys not really on the team.
