Bolles is playing at an extremely high level and while he is not big whit he is maybe a tier below but he is mean 4 years younger than when we got whit signed and if we intend on building it up fast and Stafford is your QB well you take as close as you can to a franchise LT that can probably be had for cheap. Also never hurt and he Avila and Dotson are nasty other pieces provide great depth this is a no brainer if you intend on riding the Stafford train out especially.

He is t Trent Williams but Trent Williams changed that whiner team I said it in the other thread while they still choke he solidified that position and is helping QBs like Jimmy g and Brock Purdue look like peyton manning especially vs us
Bolles changes this line completely and is excellent pass blocking and nasty run blocking....yes please

So yeah if we could score Bolles at Left Tackle then we could move Alaric Jackson to the Left Guard spot and move our new favorite son -Steve Avila- to Center. We could then have Coleman Shelton compete with Kevin Dotson for the Right Guard spot and have the best 5 players fill out our Offensive line.
And with some depth to boot.

I really don't see a down side to this unless Denver becomes completely unreasonable in their demands for a Bolles trade.

Why the fuck would you move Avila from LG?

If Asshole Face is moving him he is probably done. Haven't watched any of Denver's games this year, admittedly, but I doubt he is a good buy.

Plus we seem close with the OL. And I'd prefer a young stud LT and another Center in this draft. Imagine what McVay could do with a young and strong OL. Years of winning IMO.

Why the fuck would you move Avila from LG?

For several reasons:
1) He played Center in college before moving to guard. So he's familiar with the position
2) This scenario gets our 5 best linemen on the field at the same time.
3) We need a big strong man in the middle of our line to empower the run game. We're still losing the line of scrimmage and getting pushed around up front.
4) Snead and McVay are just NOT going to spend a high draft pick on a highly rated college Center. (Cows will fly first...) This gets us a huge upgrade as he's already on the roster!!

How's all these reasons for you?

As far as the age thing: This guy's 31, Trent Williams is 35, Whit played til 40 right? I think LT is one of the few positions you need to shell out for when given the opportunity, in terms of value to the team, and how rare and difficult to come by a truly dominant one is.

How's all these reasons for you?

I would counter:

1. There’s a reason he started at centre in college, but was then moved: he’s better as a guard.

2. It’s not a question of getting the five best linemen on the field; it’s the best LT at LT; the best LG at LG, etc

3. We can draft a big strong centre in the second or third round next year.

4. I disagree. Unless you are Snead or McVay, of course.

Avila is perfectly settled at LG and, dare I say it, showing Pro Bowl potential at that position. There is no reason whatsoever to move him.
