I'm doing the chili thing too. My sides are chix nachos, beef tamales & hot wings. That & two cases of Stella.
I can't take credit for the tamales, they are ordered from an outfit in Texas.

How about CGI_Ram create a game foodie thread which includes these last three posts ... ?

Oh, man. In all seriousness… tamales sound really good. I can’t make them… and I can’t even guess the closest restaurant. I love tamales.

Do you have a REAL Mexican/TexMex Restaurant anywhere nearby ? And I mean REAL, not some Taco Bell wannabe.
Mexican families quite often make tamales & mole' sauce in bulk for the holidays, or perhaps you can convince a Mexican restaurant owner/manager to make a bulk order for you that you can freeze. jmo.

We have a Mexi-Cali-Rosa about 40min away. I will go there and it’s not bad. But IMO it is closer to the Taco Bell lineage than away from it.

AND NOTHING like Mexican I’ve gotten down south. Including Missouri where there are some damn good ones. STL area... My favourite dish can be had in Cape Girardeau.

Man, it's been so long since I've had a good tamale. Sweet corn outer part, beef inside...heaven.
