They could extend the playoffs to 10 teams and there would still be fans crying foul and acting like this team and that team are victims. Can't please everyone. Life ain't fair.

But I do enjoy drinking the tears. :laugh3:
My response to that is - if you're somewhere between 8 - 10 and you don't make it - well you weren't good enough to be in the top 7 so fuck it - you're out

Not a bad choice. There are things he can work on plus he's rolling the dice next years QB class isn't as stacked as this one is. Not sure about that haven't looked into it though.
Yeah, I don't disagree at all. I wonder what happens with Arch Manning though. Will there be open competition if he stays at TX?

No FSU should be rewarded because they lost their starting QB, then their backup QB and managed to still go undefeated because they have a great defense. They actually "survived" to reach the semi finals. Did Georgia survive? Did Oregon? No. Did Alabama earn their way into the semi finals only because they are an SEC team, even if they are extremely inconsistent? I want to watch great football too. I am open to the possibility, that can happen without an SEC team and FSU in the final 4.
FSU hasn't played a single team of the caliber you named. Alabama played Texas and UGA. It beat one of the two. Washington played Oregon. It beat them twice. Texas played Alabama and beat them. And Michigan played Ohio State and beat them. All proved they could beat a top team, and all have their starting QBs. FSU doesn't and isn't remotely the same team without Travis. The Committee did the right thing and pick the four best teams. Good on them. I figured they'd take the easy way out and subject us to another crappy semi-final game.
On ESPN:
"Overlooked however was the play of its defense, which has been stellar since Travis got hurt. Over the last two games, the Florida State defense has a combined 13 sacks -- and held its last two opponents to zero or negative yards in the fourth quarter. Florida State, which has won 19 straight games -- the second-longest streak in the country -- will now head to the Orange Bowl as the ACC champion."

Travis tweeted:
"devastated. heartbroken. In so much disbelief rn, I wish my leg broke earlier in the season so y’all could see this team is much more than the quarterback. I thought results matter. 13-0 and this roster matches up across any team in those top 4 rankings. I am so sorry. Go Noles!"

Yeah FSU had no chance for a title. Defenses have never won a National Championship. Alabama is never shut down on offense.....at least after trying 3 QBs and settling on Milroe. They blasted A&M 26-20 and Arkansas 24-21.

I get it. Good defense is boring and it could expose some questionable offensive talent
This conveniently ignores that FSU did not look that good against either team it beat. And neither of those teams are in the same league as the top 6 non-FSU teams.

And I ask, if Georgia had won over Alabama but the QB broke his leg would they have been passed over? Answer? Not on your life.
If Michigan, Washington or Texas lost their qb with 2 games to go in the season, then barely beat inferior competition and squeaked out a win in their champ game against an inferior team, they would be in the exact same position as FSU.

They didn't look good? 15 sacks in those last 2 games, under 200 passing yards allowed total. They didn't beat anybody? They beat LSU 45-24 (Alabama beat them 42-28). They beat Clemson (who bombed Ga Tech a team Georgia beat by 8) in OT, getting to OT on a fumble return by their DEFENSE with 31 seconds to play. They got screwed and the SEC was rewarded. But that's nothing new.

On one hand when an Alabama or Georgia barely beats a lesser team, the excuse is "yeah but they found a way to win". FSU found a way EVERY week but then folks want to look at the competition. A double standard?

That's nice that they had a lot of sacks. They still didn't look good. They had 224 yards of offense against UF's dreadful defense and 219 yards of offense against Louisville. Without Travis, they aren't a top four team. And that's plain as day. And we'll see that proven on the field when they play UGA. If they beat UGA, I'll eat crow. If UGA beats them by 10+ points, will you eat crow?

Sure I will. Hey I understand the desire to have the best 4 teams at this time playing the CFP. Did Oregon get consideration? Ohio St.? Perhaps the fairest way to remove FSU from the equation was give it to Ohio St...(and as a Penn St. and Michigan fan you can imagine how that pains me to say) They were ranked higher than Alabama. But I know we can't have that. Take Georgia out for shitting the bed and keeping Alabama out because they were ranked #8 would have meant a CFP without an SEC team. And that's just not allowed.

Why would we give it to Ohio State? They didn't win their conference or beat a single team ranked in the top 5. Bama won their conference and beat the #1 team in the country (now #5 in the country) in the process. Bama is a better squad. The good news is we'll get to see all of this played out on the field. Bama plays Michigan, and FSU plays UGA.

The only bias here is your bias against the SEC for some reason.
Like it or not Alabama beat the #1 team in the country, the current 2x defending national champion who hadnt lost a game in over 2 years.
I mean with all the outrage, why not cry foul for Liberty while we are at it?

No bias. Just honesty. I love SEC football. Watch it every week. No other conference could see a team make a jump like that. And btw, no need to get sarcastic. It is what it is.

All the dissing on Florida St., tell me how dominant Bama was vs A&M and Auburn. Saban owns Georgia. Losing would have been a bigger deal than beating the #1 team with a weaker schedule than last year. Funny, in a round about way, Georgia's 2022 National title helped Bama get into the dance this year.

It’s simple.
FSU qb doesn’t get hurt, they’re in.

I'm fine with who got in, ultimately.

But I am 90% confident that Ohio State was one of the best four, along with Georgia, Bama and Michigan.

I get that Texas beat Bama, but that was earlier in the season and they're clearly much better now.

That's always been a problem...best versus most deserving. OSU basically played Michigan straight up in the big house - if the committee asked themselves honestly who is capable of going in and having a chance to win that game, it would be Alabama, Georgia and Ohio State.

Thank God for the 12 team playoff next year.

Mizzou's playing Ohio State in the Cotton Bowl. I'm honestly happy with that.

For Michigan to draw Bama is rough. That's one tough 4 seed.

Texas vs Washington should be fun. Feel like either will lose to the winner of the Rose Bowl but you never know.
