Agreed. And as Jrry pointed out FSU losing their QB should matter in this particular clusterfuck.
Or should it matter that despite losing their star starting QB, their defense showed it may be the best in the country?
FSU is not one of the 4 best teams. Putting them in over Alabama is nothing more than giving Michigan a 1st round bye. Which is what they had last year also and yet they blew it by being beat by TCU
Should be Michigan, Washington, Texas and Bama
Or they should have a last minute change and make it 8 teams
If Michigan loses McCarthy or Washington loses Penix in round one, they're not one of the 4 best teams anymore?
Let the kids who earned it play the final 3 games. Judging by the way they played this year, Alabama would have a hard time beating Ohio St or Oregon on a neutral field.
The only way to make it right is the 8 team tourney. And even then, there will be some team at #9 who people believe got screwed. Georgia should drop to #4, Oregon to #8. And the top 8 teams should be:
Michigan, Washington, FSU, Georgia, Ohio St., Texas, Alabama and Oregon. And even then some fans could say Texas is rewarded with a bye or Michigan and Washington are getting screwed. I guess that's the best thing about college football.....there's always a better way to rank them or set a playoff system. 4 teams to 8. 8 teams to 12. 12 to 16. I'm fine with it. The more games the better.
