JSN had one of his lowest yardage games of the year.
Top receiver in the league, from what I'm seeing.

I still think he's average..... But not many improve from terrible to average in 11 game like he has, so it shows he has the ability to learn and figure things out. And I gotta give Shula credit for sticking with him.... not sure any other DC would had been so forgiving.

Forbes is playing lights out and there is good reason for competent Rams fans to think the return to great play is sustainable for the long haul.

Stud in College, First round pick, in a tough system, playing a position where if you don't get out of your head and play free, you can really struggle.

As far as giving Shula exclusive credit, not sure what the fuck you're talking about. The Rams entire front office took a flyer on Forbes by grabbing him off waivers. Sometimes players need new scenery in a system that gives them a chance to thrive. Our Front office and coaches have done that with many players. "Sticking with him"? he had a good camp. Has been elevated and demoted based on performance and "next man up". Dude got a chance to come in as a starter during this win streak and has found his "dawg".

FYI
I think the 9ers are average and will get beat by the Panthers tonight.

Go Rams!

Re read my post, I didn't give Shula exclusive credit.

Forbes development has been awesome to watch. We have so much cap space next year and I'm riding so high on this team, right now I want to re-sign/extend everyone within reason.

I would re-sign Lake, Curl and Durant right now. Extend Puka just to get that done. Bring Stafford and Adams back (IIRC they are both 'under contract' with no guarantees beyond this year, so would require restructuring/extensions for both).

I am assuming we can get Lake/Curl/Durant for between 8-14 million each.

Then we wait on extensions for Turner and Young to see how next year shakes out - if that ends up being Stafford and Davantes last ride with us, we can likely afford to extend Tuner and Young, then go with a cheap rookie QB contract.

THEN we would basically bring this entire team back (minus Higbee, Havenstein and maybe Witherspoon (depending on amount for him) but have two first and a second. If Stafford and Davante are in, we use those picks on CB/T to upgrade, possibly QB or WR depending.

This team man.....it is SO deep its crazy.
As long as McVay is coach I just don't think he's gonna bring up a rookie qb. I feel like he will retire before that happens. there will never be another Stafford in his term but maybe a close 2nd. Go, rams!

Forbes was a first round talent. For whatever reason Washington felt drafting him was a mistake and cut him loose. We take a chance and it paid off. He's getting better every week. Rams have done well with guys like that and undrafted guys. And day 3 picks.

Pittsburgh didn't want Dotson. We found one of the better guards in the league.

Atlanta wasn't interested in bringing Landman back. Now we have our rock in the middle of the defense for 3 years.

Jackson wasn't drafted. While he isn't an all pro left tackle he's a solid better than average tackle.

Speights is undrafted and starting in the middle of the defense.

Shelton bounced around and now he's starting on a Superbowl caliber team and part of one of the better lines.

A number of day 3 picks starting and/or contributing. Puka's an all pro. Whittington is starting. Kyren's a top back. The secondary is full of day 3, castoffs or undrafted guys on a top 3 defense.

Gotta give McSnead credit. Finding all these gems and only one pick in the first round over the last few years. And building a culture where players love to play. Rams have gotta be the best organization in the NFL.

He doesn't care about facts and stats just bad takes.
That's not true.

I'm just not going to always agree with all of your player assessments.... To me stats are for bean counters and agents..... oh.....and for Fantasy Footballers..... which I have zero interest in.

Like I said, Forbes is coming along just fine, considering what he looked like the first four games.

Troll still trolling, lol.

The thing about Forbes is that you see his technique and awareness have improved soooooo much. He's oooozing confidence as well.
He's performing better than any corner the Rams have had since D-Williams best year and Jalen. My only concerns now are about his durability. You would, ideally, add another corner next year who will be a better matchup on the more physical guys. But the speed/technician guys? Forbes can run with all of them and is showing it. His timing Sunday night was amazing.

Is this level of play sustainable? No idea.. I mean last night's game was special.. but so was last week in it's own way. And the question itself is misleading.. because volatility at the CB position is huge, just look around the league.

For now? The Rams are getting pro-bowl caliber play from a guy they got for absolutely nothing. I've said it before.. what a massive organizational win.
