There is an Offensive AND Defensive Rookie of the Year.

Nacua finished 2nd to Stroud.
Kobie Turner was 3rd behand Anderson and Carter.

Kobie Turner was robbed. He had more sacks (nine sacks) than Anderson or Carter. In fact, Byron Young had more than Anderson and Carter as well (eight, compared to seven and six).

I can understand Nacua finishing second to Stroud, who had an amazing rookie year. But Turner losing to Anderson and Carter will forever stick in my craw.

Yeah, it was two 2nd round picks. But we got a higher 2nd round pick for it so the net is we lose one second round pick. Likely to be upper 40's/low 50's. And a 5th.

Some thought it was too steep a price. But now its looking like a steal. He's playing like a first round pick. Verse is easily the best defensive player in this first round rookie class. Fiske is easily the best second round rookie. Better than the first rounders. Rams sure knew what they were doing.
I still think they should have been able to get a later pick this year in return. It just seems when they want to get something done they just don't waste time trying to squeeze that extra pick.

There is a video of the Eagles trading up for Dejean on draft day. They were also talking to Carolina, which is why we gave up a lot. Now they were coming from further up the board than we were, yet they then didn't give up nearly as much for pick 40 as we did for pick 39. They got a mid round pick back.

Watching the draft day video, it was clear they felt they didn't have time to negotiate or they'd lose Fiske. They debated a bit on if they should accept the higher cost or wait to find a better deal, but decided they had to pull the trigger.

Agreed. I posted on draft day that Snead and McVay are both aggressive types and one of the costs of doing business when you're ultra-aggressive is that you will often overpay or get less than market value for something.

Their aggression has gotten us a perennial contender since 2017 and a SB win in 2022. I'll take the bad with the good.
