I'd be willing to bet that Gurley will be trotted out on the field on opening day for a cameo but to only go in motion a couple of times and maybe touch the ball twice. I agree on the "yikes" factor. I surely would love to see him play in the opener but hate the butterflies I feel about it.

This isn't really surprising but I'm a bit disappointed. There have been too many players that don't play in preseason and then end up not being effective or getting hurt.

I would like for him to play in at least one game just to get hit.

How come nobody's worried about Pead?

Pead's mom would like you to know she's plenty worried. If that helps.

Nothing too surprising here, is there?

Fisher and Snead have consistently said that they intend to err on the side of caution since Gurley was drafted.

Besides, we have Mason and Cunningham in the meantime. Both quality RB's, if you ask me.

Caution with Gurley makes a ton of sense here.

I hope they stick to their guns here and dont play him. By all accounts and reading the camp reports he is itching to get in there but I hope they take a patient long term approach here.

If this kid can be special then what is an extra couple of weeks in the grand scheme of things.

Good.bin preseason you have guys still trying to make the team and playing balls out reckless trying to make splash plays. You do t take the Ferrari out on the road when everyone currently out that is in drivers Ed. It'll get dented.

First action againt Hawks in opener? Yikes.

That's being generous, I don't even think then. Remember how long it took before Mason got to start and Stacy before him? I imagine it'll take quite some time for Gurley to get in, as it should be.

Actually from this video Fisher takes a different tone than B/R uses. He does he's unlikely play in the preseason but then goes on to say that Todd will get carries in the preseason and he'll be ready for the regular season. And that if he doesn't play in the preseason it won't affect whether he plays or not in the week 1.

The way I interpret this;
* Gurley Will not play in preseason games.
* Fisher doesn't need to see that in order to Play him in Regular season.
* He well still get practice reps during pre-season.
* He will play to some degree starting in week #1!
I hope I have this figured out right!

This is exactly what I took from it when I saw it on NFLN this morning.

I think so, maybe, or not...Fisher does some of the best coachspeak in the league...
