They definitely could...but I don't like the edge rushers around the first round range other than Ezeiruaku and Scourton, and I'd have to trade down to be fine with Scourton. Stewart reminds me of Vernon Gholston: looks like Tarzan, plays like Jane, except even Gholston had better stats and film at Ohio State. He's on my DND list. Green and Pearce have serious character issues that struck them off my draft list. Mykel Williams is very raw and wouldn't contribute much his first year (but you could probably convince me that he would be a good pick if he was picked by us). Wouldn't be my favorite pick, but I could eventually accept it (much like the category Milroe's currently in).

But Green has had two sexual assault charges (that were just charges, not indictments, to be fair, but still too Roethlisberger-like): one in high school, and one at Ohio State. There's nothing that could justify taking him.
Not defending the guy, just stating he has never been charged by law enforcement for anything or questioned about those allegations. Definitely a risk and likely one we don't take, but, he could also be innocent.

26. Los Angles Rams Mike Green, EDGE, Marshall

The Rams have a need in the secondary, but instead continue their investment in a young defense by adding to the pass rush with Green. Los Angeles will have to address the secondary later, but with Barron, Johnson and even Starks off the board, it's hard to argue with adding more to the edge. Gemini likes Green's upside and how productive he was in college. In this hypothetical, the Rams will hope the chatbot is right about that.

I've been thinking of Mike Green at the Edge. The Rams could move BY to inside LB. He has the speed to cover and move sideline to sideline. Rams play 1 LB a lot. That would give them another pass rusher. Teams would not know where the rush was covering.
An edge is the last thing I want the Rams to pick.
Literally anything else (outside of ST's) -- WR, CB, S, ILB, RB, QB, OT, OG(C), TE, even NT would all be preferable. We are fine at DE & OLB.

Terrible position for the Rams to draft at all in the first 4 rounds.

While I don't think its our top priority or anything, but, we could certainly use and talented Edge. Think of how often Hoecht was out there last year and now he is gone. Also, BY wasn't fantastic last year and needs a new contract soon. A lot of teams are going to copy the Eagles formula that won them a ring, lots of talented pass rushers. Green might be the best pass rusher in the draft. Without allegations, he likely is long gone by us. Again, I'm not saying I'd love this pick, but, it makes sense to me.

Pick
26

Los Angeles Rams

Nick Emmanwori
South Carolina · S · Junior
The Rams were infatuated with Brock Bowers in last year's draft, so LSU TE Mason Taylor wouldn't shock me here. But Emmanwori could be a box safety/linebacker, adding another playmaker for this defense.

This guy intrigues me but I think he still has a ton to learn and might not have a huge impact this season.

NYG would need to sweeten the deal a bit. R1.26 for R2.34 and R3.99 is a little in favor of NYG. Add their R5.154 pick or at least swap for one of Rams R6 picks.
We'll see, this year could be a year that fans get less than expected in trades. Just a bunch.

Los Angeles Rams

Omarion Hampton
North Carolina · RB · Junior
On the surface, this might be puzzling, given the presence of Kyren Williams. But Williams is in the final year of his contract and had only one carry of 30-plus yards last season. In comparison, Saquon Barkley had 13 such runs, including the playoffs. Hampton provides a more explosive element to the Rams’ run game and can eventually take over as RB1.

I'd be happy w/ that. No shame in prepping for the future, but it pretty much tells us we're not shooting for a SB "win now" in '25, especially if Egbuka or Omarion are still sitting there.
That's the Giants logo at pick 26 he has us trading out of the 1st.
