I don't see the problem. Weddle is probably going to play the SS/LB hybrid that Morris likes to have. As an in the box safety his ability to read plays will be an advantage. I think people are making too much of it. He can only help, I don't see him as a liability in Morris' scheme. If this was Staley's scheme then yeah I can see the problem, but Morris' scheme is wheelchair friendly.

I doubt that.
I think he'll play high in situational packages.
Fingers crossed that Rapp gets through protocol (I can't believe what I just typed).

We need Rapp, just do. Too many changes will not be ideal

Yeah.
I mean.. right now it's Burgess at SS and Scott at FS.. yikes.

If Rochell was healthy, I'd throw him at Corner a bunch and move Ramsey high a good portion of the time. Mix it up.

I agree, it is unfortunate RR and EJ are out. EJ with the green dot and a little more flexibility would help.

Man.. I really had high hopes for Burgess and Long this year... Not to be great, but just to be solid contributors. Can you imagine what this team would've been like with that and any real contributions from Rochell? Jeez.

Jesus man you can't honestly believe this?? Did you see his play in 2019? The guy cannot move laterally at all and takes horrible angles. Hes washed up to the 10th degree. That was in 2019!! He's been sitting on his couch for two years out of football. If he wasn't a liability he would've been on an NFL team. This is an complete desperation panic move there's really no other way around it. We need to limit his exposure because our defense was already bad before he stepped onto the field.

I have no idea what he’s been doing, may be in fantastic shape and recovered from years of beatings in the NFL.

I disagree about him being on a team, he chose to retire it’s not as if he was looking for a job.

I am inclined to agree. He was bad in 2019. He made some good plays at times but, generally, was a negative. I am not looking forward to his effectiveness 3 years later. We shall see. One thing Weddle has going for him is that his body should not be banged up at all, as he was sitting at home. So maybe he will look better than anticipate just by virtue of being healthier than the competition that is all sporting some sort of ailment by this time of year. Then again, maybe he is so rusty he pulls a groin first week trying to accelerate...

I feel like after that concussion he quit trying to stick his head in anywhere. All his tackles were arms and shit from there, he didn't want to risk another one.

I've been saying Morris just needed one more All Pro to make a good defense. :D

This is a Eric Weedle post so how this got here. If you want to know there is a topic Mcvay brought up.He used an excuse, but IMO I’d say he knows how he game called.
I personally don’t like the theory, but if has worked.I’d like more play action & quicker throws.I do always think back of what if with Goff plus a pick ? DJ1 & him both from Cal.
— So Burgees(gay) was a guy that I’m sure Mcvay knew about because of the Utah connection. It’s cool to see him being able to play with a player like Weedle who is a Legend & if The Rams make a SuperBowl run with him would help his chances to maybe being a HOF player?
Von Miller & OBj are such amazing talents & love how they have stepped up.If you go by last week. OBj needs the ball more & changing the pocket & throwing underneath.Play action & that will bring me to topic above.
Von Miller on a play late needed to stay home & not give up that passing lane.If he wants to put pressure on at that time & roll back move would have been awesome. No matter how good a player is they can always be better & no player is ever perfect.
Fuller being hurt only makes sense because of it to bring in a Weedle.Who knows maybe big Whit would do the same.Wonder if not Von Miller would Clay be ready ? He lives in Thousand Oaks.
Hold up, hold up.

Did you just chastise me for talking about Kupp in a Waddle thread, and then proceed to name 10 other Rams players and coaches?

U funny.

Didn't hear his name called at all which means he played way better than I thought he would.
