I've seen a handful of people, both on this board and on social media, say we haven't done anything yet and that they'll enjoy it if we win the Lombardi in February.

I don't get that. It's like they are suspending their own happiness.

There is so much to enjoy about this season. Much more so than in 2021, when this board almost imploded after the loss in Green Bay.

I'm loving this season because we are so dominant, and it's more like the GSOT than in 2019 or 2021.

The games are so much fun to watch.

And watching all the reels on Facebook, the interviews on YouTube, the clips on NFL.com, and the talking heads all having to tip their hat to the Rams, McVay and Stafford is catnip to me.

So, whereas if we don't win the Super Bowl, I'll be bitterly disappointed, it doesn't alter the fact that I am having a fucking shit ton of fun at the moment.

Only one team wins the Super Bowl, and no matter what ANYONE says.....it takes luck. A lot of luck. As dominant as the Eagles were last year, they benefitted from Limmer whiffing, not to mention all our fumbles in that game, primarily from the snow.

The playoffs are one and done, and as dominant as we look right now, we could lose to the Eagles, Packers, Lions, Niners (already have) and Seahawks in that setting come playoff time. Its very likely that our first playoff game ends up being against one of those teams, and possible that our entire path is a combination of those teams. We can also beat them, obviously.

But the point is - totally agree about enjoying this. Seasons like this don't happen every year, and while the Lombardi is the ultimate goal, enjoying the journey is paramount.

Some people simply don't enjoy the journey.

Some of those that do enjoy it, think those that don't are greatly missing-out.

It's tough to win in the NFL. Every win should be enjoyed ... at least, that's my thought

Part of the enjoyment but I would not get too swept-up by the opinions of third parties that watch far less Rams' football than we do.

Perhaps the only comment I do not entirely agree with.

The Rams are Really Good right now ... and have a legit opportunity to win a Lombardi.

However, there is a ton of regular season football to play. And there are other Quality Teams out there.

Jason Myers makes that kick 50% of the time. If he hits the final-play-FGA as well as he did early in the game, ALL the positive National Media Rams' comments from the past ten days disappear.

For the Rams to win the Super Bowl, they will Need to Win Multiple Close Games against strong teams,
like they did in 2021 against Tampa (last-play-FG), the Niners (down by two scores to start the 4th quarter)
and Cincinnati (final possession game-winning TD-drive, followed by stops on 3rd-and-1 AND 4th-and-1)
... AND NOT Lose a game at the very end, with a blown-play, like they did last year in Philadelphia.

It CAN Happen ... It WON'T be Easy ... IT NEVER IS

The Rams have strung together wins over the 9ers, Seahags, and Bucs...ALL TEAMS IN THE PLAYOFF PICTURE. Everyone knows it doesn't mean anything...but IT'S DEFINITELY SOMETHING TO BUILD ON, and something that solidifies confidence in the locker room. You don't shake a stick at that...but you don't crown yourself either!!!

All the "talking heads" are saying "best team in football"...so now, THERE'S A TARGET ON YOUR BACK!!! Everyone you play is gonna give you their best...AND YOU GOTTA EXPECT THAT!!!

That's where it all starts...and the thing now is to go one game at a time. The 9ers beat up the Panthers last night...the Rams go to against Carolina Sunday. The worst thing they can do is overlook Carolina based on last night!

IT'S ONE GAME AT A TIME FOLKS...

It's okay to be a pissed off Rams fan.... lol...

Some people like to be jaded so when the wrecking ball hits they can tell us ... "I told you so."
Others do it to keep their happiness in check in the event the Rams don't make it, they can be functional human beings in the offseason.
Others... well there's nothing you can do, so just let them be pissed off.

What I have learned about fandom it come's in many forms, and if you have been a Rams fan since the 60's it comes with peaks and valleys and special frustrations.

1. Dealing with Fran Tarkenton
2. Dealing with the Steeler Super Bowl loss.
3. Dealing with the Rams moving from the Coliseum to a fucking baseball stadium.
4. Dealing with the Rams trading Dickerson to the Colts
5. Dealing with the Rams relocating to St. Louis.
6. Dealing with the Rams winning their first Super Bowl as the St. Louis Rams.
7. Dealing with the Rams playoff drought from 2005 to 2014.
8. Rams move back home
9. Losing the Super Bowl to fucking Brady.
10. Trading Goff away (Though it turned out to be the best trade ever)
11. Rams winning the Super Bowl in their own house.

It's all been gravy since :smilehearts:

Im enjoying the shit out of this season and this team.
Enjoying watching the whole offseason and front office do their thing to build this roster over the last few years.
These are the good ol days my friends.
McVay is in his 9th year and we have an aging first ballot hall of fame at QB....nothing last forever....
ENJOY IT!!!!

I have never seen so many people wearing Rams gear on a Sunday while out and about. I say hello to as many as I can. I was wearing my #75 Deacon Jones Throwback while shopping and it's nice to see so many Rams fans in Ventura County. I felt like the lonesome unicorn fan, for so many years , when times were bad. I wake up everyday enjoying and appreciating that our beloved Rams are where they are.

I don't see many 'pissed-off' posts/comments.

If you are referring to the half-dozen-posters who are ALL Thrilled with how this season is progressing but posted to provide a little balance, perspective and reality, then your definition of 'Pissed-Off' is unique.
One example is @RamUK, whose post above has received 15 positive comments ... only 14 more than yours.

If that's the case, man ... you have some Really Bizarre Takes

Ya gotta admit at that time...Goff was known to crumble under pressure. He's definitely matured past that...but back then it was terrible.
Yet to be determined fully for me.
Lions did a great job of building an O around him that works very well.
He still isn't nearly as good outside on the road or when facing a pass rush.

Yeppers

Goff does has trouble with pressure and throwing on the move..... Someone here stated he has small hands, which I always wondered why some of his throws looked like Charlie Hough's pitches.

Just to throw some things out for how unique this season is...

In 2021, we beat up on non playoff teams. We went 2-5 against playoff teams....one of those wins was the Cardinals, who we typically own.

Here are the records we've played this year:

6-5 (W)
2-9 (W)
8-3 (L)
8-3 (W)
8-4 (L)
6-5 (W)
7-4 (W)
2-9 (W)
8-4 (W)
8-3 (W)
6-5 (W)

We are #1 in DVOA which takes who you play into account. We are top five in EPA/play on both offense and defense. We have the #1 scoring defense.

This is rare.

Do you always compartmentalize responses to help separate your own conflicting thoughts????? I'm guessing it helps you reduce anxiety and the discomfort of cognitive dissonance.

I don't get the acronyms (DVOA)??? lol...., but your response really does paint a nice picture on how good the Rams really are.

I posted to you just the other day that you’re entitled to post your opinions, whatever they may be … BUT … if they continue to come out-of-left-field, you WILL get some pushback.

Deal with it.

As to your comments above, I’m pretty certain someone wrote that for you.

"DVOA stands for Defense-adjusted Value Over Average, an advanced football metric that measures a team's or player's performance by comparing it to the league average, with adjustments for the strength of the opponent."

Its really only a stat that fans of their team will talk about when its extraordinary, and thats us this year. Even if previous years, we were never very close to the top (2021, 2018 and even 2017).

For context, our Rams this year would be tied for the 11th best team in NFL history if the season ended today. I think the main take away from that is we have a great record, elite point differential and have done it against good teams and that is VERY unusual.
