Looking back at some of the seasons where Rams corners were injured, I would say Forbes is worth the cap hit. Having too many corners is a good thing. I remember one year under Spags when they were playing street free agents as starters.

Guaranteed money - the Rams can pay him to play, pay him to sit on the bench or cut him and still have to pay him and take a cap hit.
Washington ate the signing bonus on their cap, but Rams still are stuck with the guaranteed portion.
It's not zero risk for the Rams as some have suggested. If he's cut this year, there's going to be dead cap.
Of course, when the Rams already have about 50M in dead cap, 5M more probably doesn't seem like much.

When you draft a corner they come out of the draft with raw abilities. Not all of them have the ability to play the ball at the NFL level. Kendrick played the ball, which I love, but he did not have the ability to stick with receivers at this level. His lack of speed killed his chances...

That equates to zero on the risk scale to me. Any way you slice it, he’s a Ram for now. Cut him, keep him, keep him and sit him, whatever. He still costs the same unless you figure he’s taking a roster spot from someone better. Losing a better player would be the only risk.

I will add I get it. I was 6-5 180 lbs in HS. Played basketball. Now back then basketball players didn't lift weights. Was thought to bulk you up and lose your ability to shoot etc... dumb, but that was the early 80's.

Anyway, I couldn't gain weight at all. I could eat an entire pizza after practice and never gain weight. Granted, probably didn't eat the right foods, but still I could eat anything at anytime and not gain weight. Stayed that way until my late 20's...and it wasn't my wifes cooking that helped, that's for sure, just biology and slowing my metabolism I guess.

Long story short... he probably can't gain weight. Not at least until he gets married and sits on the couch 5 nights a week. So he is what he is, and hopefully he can play bigger than his slight frame.

I see a lot of people here and in other places actually wanting to give up a high pick for Ramsey, ignoring that the Rams paid two first-round picks for Ramsey, but they only got a third rounder and Hunter Long TE in return when they traded Ramsey to the Dolphins--why? Because of Ramsey's very rare and unreasonable contract demands.

The Dolphins apparently were the only NFL team that would fully guarantee both of Ramsey's next two years, adding $25 million in guarantees and restructuring his deal to average $20 million per season.

Ramsey also told the media that he was thrilled about rumors he would be traded to Miami, which might have scared off any other teams that were even considering trading for him.

Also, why did Ramsey suddenly demand that his following two years be fully guaranteed, forcing the Rams to trade him? Did the Rams expect him to make that demand down-the-road when they gave up the two first-round picks and a fourth rounder? I

He's a Me First guy, no doubt!

No way I'd guy up much to bring him back. No way I'd give up a third rounder, but a 6th or 7th rounder might be ok only if the Jags paid a huge chunk of his salary.

Excellent elaboration there, Elm! I did have a vague memory of that (Snead deliberately sending him to Miami to do Ramsey a favor) but couldn't find confirmation, so I didn't include it. So, Ramsey should return the favor to the Rams and demand that the Dolphins release him, so the Rams can get him for free. I think the Rams have been incredibly--and overly--kind and considerate to their players. I hope that helps the Rams sign key free agents, but so far, it only seems to get the Rams fleeced by greedy players (who sign huge extensions, generously offered by the Rams long before needed--only for said players to get hurt and never earn those huge contracts, e.g., Gurley, Kupp, etc.) and other teams who lowball the Rams, knowing that the Rams are trying to be nice to their players and send them where they want to go.

Considering he was rated out as a first round talent and the Rams gave up nothing for him I would put the risk at 0%.
He may fit and find a role, or, he may get beaten out by others that are here.
Witherspoon, Williams, Durant and Kendricks all have spots locked up. Add in Ramsey and there will be a lot of bodies fighting for one spot.

Maybe sounds funny,but AJ Green has been in the league for 4 years.
Then Cam Lampkins & Josh Wallace were UDRFA who made the roster on & off and have upside.

You have to think special teams as well.Shaun Jolley has been a forever Ram. I’ll stick to The Rams DEFENTLY not trading for him,but signing him only if he’s cut.IMO he might bring some baggage with his diva’ness.

Forbes from what I see has strong calf muscles,but skinny legs.Ahkello is helping mentor him,and it’s depth & competition at a CAP friendly price.

He's never going to gain much weight, he's just blessed with that kind of physique and I'm jealous. What he needs is smarts to use his speed to his advantage. He doesn't need to be able to tackle Derrick Henry to be a great CB. He needs to stick to receivers. If he can do that I'm good with his skinny ass getting ran over on occasion.

He’s like me. I’ve been 155 lbs my entire adult life. The only thing that ever worked to add muscle was powerlifting in my 20’s and the highest I got to was 165 lbs.
