I thought we wanted a back with game changing speed.

Ya know, recently I went and looked up Eric Dickerson's pre-draft 40 yard time.

4.57

Hardly game-breaking speed, and yet somehow he seemed to have plenty of it when he broke one long run after another. The upshot is that you don't have to have blazing 40 times to be an explosive game breaker.

This kid has enough speed, has great balance, and breaks tackles like crazy. Get him to the next level in a one-on-one situation with a defender - I definitely like his chances. Go watch his long runs - one broken tackle after another, until there is nobody left.

Guy can run, guy can catch, guy can pass protect. Guy can explode. Whoever does end up with him his going to be damn glad they did.

He's a good back not saying he's not. But most every RB and even WR comments are we need more speed. He's not that, he's good he's just not speedy.

I think we need a deep threat at WR where speed comes into play.

Cam is just a great fucking runner and can break tackles in the open field better than anyone we have on the roster now.

man I like that kid, too. Great with screen passes as well. Plows over LB's.
If we don't get a "lightning" kinda RB, a "thunder" RB to pair with KW/BC would be incredible, one who could also stay on the field on 3rd downs.

This guy brings pain to would-be tacklers. That can pay dividends as a game wears on.

I think Golden will rise to round one. He doesn't have that lengthy frame teams want now outside, but he's got everything else and if he'd been in a better offense I'd say he would have done more. Not a fan of that Texas scheme or Ewers in general. I suspect Golden goes off in the 20s so would not surprise me if McVay went after him.

@Memphis Ram
Something I've been kicking around. Mark Andrews and Isaiah Likely are both heading into their final years. Likely has emerged as a very promising TE this year. I imagine the Ravens will choose to re-sign him. I'm very intrigued by the idea of trading for Mark Andrews. A 3rd might get it done. Running 12 personnel with him and Higbee could be potent next year. (Assuming Higbee stays healthy.) If we're looking to go push our chips in for next year, it's a move that makes sense.
I have coveted Andrews since he came out. So if the Rams were to do that I'd be behind it.

That said I'm a huge fan of Fannin. I think he is one player who, if McVay were to get him, would be unstoppable. And he fits man. He fights his ass off in blocking. He does a ton of little things well. And he has that knack of consistently being open to handle a high volume and move the offense. McVay needs a slot stud and there are many options into round 3 but Fannin IMO is a blue chip impact stud in this offense.

This game of his vs Penn St shows his game translates.

Another possible intriguing day three option at nose.

You know what that dude's nickname will be if we get him: "Nutmasher!"
