Johnston wasn’t a miss, imo.. he was a numbers crunch loss.Maybe we should just be grading the 2019 draft in this thread...
Think it's a solid B... B+ if you add the draft capital we spent on Ramsey to it.
Akers
Jefferson
Fuller
All plus players with Akers looking like a star before the injury.
Anchrum
Lewis
Valuable backups
Hopkins
Burgess
JAGS
(I'm still saying Hopkins is a JAG till I see more from him. He stepped onto the biggest stage and didn't crap the bed but I think we got the ceiling from him that day and disappointing that he hasn't taken the 2nd TE role by now)
Sloman
Johnston
Misses
I referenced Robinson for us fan’s familiarity. The list is endless obviously. But go on.He was far from an amazing college player. He was a big physical freak that had no idea how to pass block and played in a high school wing T offense.
What don’t you understand about ‘Post Draft Grades’ ? It’s a simple concept that’s done every year. It’s like a preliminary evaluation. Nobody is putting these players in the hall of fame.
Poor choice, but again it’s a post draft analysis. Nobody is claiming to know the future.I referenced Robinson for us fan’s familiarity. The list is endless obviously. But go on.
I'll be honest, haven't followed him since he left but from just looking now sounds like a JAG. Still think it's a B/B+ draft which is pretty good!Johnston wasn’t a miss, imo.. he was a numbers crunch loss.
If Bruss is a game 1 starter and is an above average starter, I’ll call this draft an A.
No pick until a comp at the end of the 3rd and you fill a key need? Awesome.
I’ll ride with the Rams’ experts over any of those guessers not being paid by an NFL team.![]()

One of the first things to do after the Los Angeles Rams make a pick in the draft is check where that player ranked on pre-draft big boards. Did they get a steal compared to where the experts had a certain player ranked? Or did the Rams reach for a player who wasn’t positively viewed by analysts leading up to the draft?
In doing that with the Rams’ 2022 draft class, it doesn’t appear that they got a ton of value with many of their picks, particularly the late-round guys. We looked at four pre-draft big boards to compare how each player ranked before the draft to where the Rams drafted them.
Wisconsin G Logan Bruss (Round 3, Pick 104)
Draft Wire: 143
Pro Football Focus: 111
The Athletic: 189
CBS Sports: 69
Bruss was drafted about where he should have been, especially with the Rams knowing he probably would not have been available had they waited until the fourth round at no. 142. CBS Sports was the highest on Bruss and he was selected at the site’s exact ranking position, though PFF wasn’t far behind.
South Carolina State CB Decobie Durant (Round 4, Pick 142)
Draft Wire: Unranked
Pro Football Focus: 246
The Athletic: 238
CBS Sports: 142
Durant was a sleeper in this class after attending South Carolina State, and the pre-draft rankings reflect that. Once again, CBS Sports was the highest on him and he, too, was selected at the same spot on the pre-draft rankings.
Notre Dame RB Kyren Williams (Round 5, Pick 164)
Draft Wire: 135
Pro Football Focus: 144
The Athletic: 129
CBS Sports: 205
Williams was seen as one of the better running backs in this class, ranking in the top 150 overall by three of the four big boards we looked at. He was taken 164th overall, so it’s not as if the Rams reached for him.
UCLA S Quentin Lake (Round 6, Pick 211)
Draft Wire: Unranked
Pro Football Focus: Unranked
The Athletic: 244
CBS Sports: Unranked
Lake was only ranked on The Athletic’s Consensus Big Board, coming in at No. 244. His poor testing was a factor in that, causing him to slide down the board.
Georgia CB Derion Kendrick (Round 6, Pick 212)
Draft Wire: 218
Pro Football Focus: 204
The Athletic: 153
CBS Sports: 184
Kendrick looks like the best value of anyone from the Rams’ class, being ranked higher than his draft position on three of the four big boards.
Montana State OLB Daniel Hardy (Round 7, Pick 235)
Draft Wire: Unranked
Pro Football Focus: Unranked
The Athletic: Unranked
CBS Sports: Unranked
Kansas State S Russ Yeast (Round 7, Pick 253)
Draft Wire: Unranked
Pro Football Focus: Unranked
The Athletic: Unranked
CBS Sports: Unranked
Michigan State OT AJ Archie (Round 7, Pick 261)
Draft Wire: Unranked
Pro Football Focus: Unranked
The Athletic: Unranked
CBS Sports: Unranked
This seems to match my understandings of the views of scouts and other organizations.![]()

Rams curve? You could grade my tests anytime! My draft grades for this draft's players:
Logan Bruss, OG, Wisconsin - A+
(Bruss was one of my picks for O-line along with Goedeke, and I thought he'd go a lot earlier, especially after the Cheatriots took Strange. Thank holy fate he was still there. I love the thought of wanting to absolutely solidify our weakest spot on the line in right guard, and I have absolutely no issues with taking another Big Ten offensive lineman after they've worked out so well for us in Havenstein, Edwards, and Allen with Alaric Jackson as a guy whom I think will be amazing.)
Decobie Durant, CB, South Carolina State - A+
(I absolutely love Durant as a prospect. Some may not have had him this high, but honestly, if he's even an inch taller, he's going way before this pick. He's fast, has tremendous ball skills, can play outside and slot, and he has sticky coverage. I guarantee you that if Hill doesn't work out this year, Durant's going to ball out. Book it.)
Kyren Williams, RB, Notre Dame - A-
(I admit that I really wanted Badie (fuck you, Baltimore!). Badie, I felt, was the best receiving back in this class. But I have zero issues with the role K-Will is going to play: taking Sony Michel's role as the top pass-blocker. In addition, he has solid hands. I admit that I wanted a home run hitter at running back to potentially help if Henderson gets hurt...again, but maybe Funk has that covered? I don't know. Still, I like Williams as a prospect, and he probably wasn't falling to the original fifth round pick.)
Quentin Lake, S, UCLA - A
(I love this pick, I really do. Lake reminds me so much of Jordan Fuller, and I can imagine him stepping right in if Fuller gets hurt. He's got underrated sneaky athleticism, good ball skills, and is just a talented player. No issues with this pick!)
Derion Kendrick, CB, Georgia - B+
(I've admittedly warmed up to this pick the more I see. Kendrick has documented character issues that caused him to slip, but it's worth a shot in the sixth round, getting a potential Day Two talent. While he isn't a good tackler and doesn't have long speed, in our system, I think he could fit.)
Daniel Hardy, OLB, Montana State - A+
(I fucking love this pick. Probably my favorite in this draft. Hardy is a very talented edge rusher who only produced for one year, but what a year that was! I love his measurables. I love his heart even more. This kid will do whatever it takes to be great, and that's a rare trait.)
Russ Yeast, S, Kansas State - A-
(I'm perfectly fine with this pick, not because of Yeast's name, but because he's a solid safety with slot potential. Honestlty, he could end up a lot like Nick Scott: a key special teams player who can grow into something more - and that's what you hope for with a seventh round pick.)
A.J. Arcuri, OT, Michigan State - B-
(Honestly not sure about this pick. Yes, we could use offensive line, but Arcuri wouldn't have been my pick. Still, with a very late seventh, maybe he surprises me?)
Total Grade: A-

Los Angeles Rams
(Expletive) them picks. They traded a future one to Cleveland to reacquire Troy Hill, who'd distinguished himself in the slot for the Rams before getting paid by the Browns last year. Wisconsin G Logan Bruss arrived courtesy a compensatory Round 3 slot and could take over the job vacated when Austin Corbett signed with Carolina. But the Rams didn't have their first-, second- or organic third-round pick because they wanted QB Matthew Stafford and since departed OLB Von Miller instead. We'd say winning their first Super Bowl while based in Los Angeles with those guys – and Stafford has since been extended – was worth the price. Grade: A

2022 NFL draft grades: Jets, Lions among top team classes while Patriots, Cowboys among worst
Several teams used the 2022 NFL draft to reload with top talent, while many others parlayed prime picks into trades for veterans.www.usatoday.com
Looks like 90% of the league got a A or better lol. Not sure how that's possible.Draft grades are pretty meaningless at this point, but for your entertainment, here's one view :

HE'S the one that's gonna toss Tutu over the goal line...
That would be awesome. Seriously. Line up in 22. I formation. Up back is one of the Rams OL, behind him is Tutu. At the snap the up back turns around and Tutu runs to him and is jettisoned into the air and over the goal line.HE'S the one that's gonna toss Tutu over the goal line...

I think it would work but would Tutu survive. Hmm....
