I'm honestly stunned by the Jackson signing. But not in a bad way.. just didn't see it coming. Really felt like they were looking for value at center and Left Guard with Avila there.

Now? Shit.. that interior is NASTY. Commitment to keeping Stafford upright is a big deal... and the run game should be incredible. The offense just needs a little more speed, imo.. and it could be absolutely devastating.

I guess the model is having and offense that can just consistently score and hope to keep it close until the fourth.. and control the game as much as possible on offense. We'll see.

McVay has never been a fan of the power run game but ironically it favors his offense the most. Because philosophically he prefers to challenge defenses downfield. That just naturally pairs beautifully with a power run threat, as teams have to respect a power run and nobody on defense ever wants to get trucked on highlights. It's like peas 'n carrots.

I didn’t see that coming at all.I’ve been PISSED for YEARS about Brian Allen & having his backup as a starting guard like Blythe & Shelton.Having Avila at Center gives The Rams more options if say one of the Guards gets hurt he is big enough to handle Big DT & could even be an All Pro Guard.Then again Noteboom/Alaric is big enough to play guard as well.
I’d rather be BIGGER than having a 298 lbs guard & Center.

My example was Dickerson with Philly.I don’t & why would you put him at Center with Kelce retiring ?His senior year he was a Center at BAMA ! I still don’t think The Rams go after a WR like Ridley. I think Tutu Atwell is undervalued a long with Noteboom to Rams Fans.

Good call on The Rams making The Playoffs at the AllStar break.
The way The Rams played with Dotson & getting Stafford healthy was big.

In training camp he looked like a natural Center.I wonder what the early roster is going to look like for the start of 2024 OTA’s.

Looking back though Steve Avila was the #1 ranked Center coming out of the draft 2023.He should pick up the offense well & he has so much support around him .Matthew Stafford reads the old presnap as good as any QB in The NFL.
