That was fun when Newberry came in. Dude was built like an ape with those arms. But yes it feels great to know our guards are gonna lock shit down.
Yeah, I remember Nrewberry had crazy long arms. Found this from an article about him:

Harrah said Newberry is built like “a swollen spider monkey,” but the Ram guard looks more like a bear than any other animal in the forest. And when he walks by, you get the urge to climb the nearest tree.

“Actually, I guess he’s perfect for what he’s doing,” Harrah said. “His arms hang on down below his knees and his head will meet most people right in their chest. Perfect for what he does for a living.”

Jackson refused to play anywhere except LT which is why I think he's gone in 2025
It's getting weird with you man. Repeating your own lie over and over doesn't make it any more convincing to us. This is borderline troll behavior at this point.

Maybe Alaric Jackson pulled-out of his drive-way one morning and accidently ran-over O-N-D's dog.

Havenstein is another matter. I'm guessing Big-Rob ran-over O-N-D; and, it may not have been accidental.

These are guesses and speculation. To state things as facts, without proof, is irresponsible and reprehensible.

Seriously mods, can we do something about this lying troll?
Enough already.

This deal will come back to haunt us.

He is not good in pass pro in the biggest moments.

I anyone is interested, OTC has the details of the Dotson contract.

If accurate, it has a fairly-high 2024 cap hit of $12.7M.

Spotrac has really dropped-the-ball this week. Has still not up-dated for the Coleman Shelton opt-out; and that was five days ago. OTC updated last Saturday. As a result, the two site reflect very different numbers, with Spotrac not currently reflecting Shelton as a free agent or Dotson under contract.
Really, it will only be a 2 yr contract if he doesn't perform to his contract. He can be released, pre June 1st in the 3rd yr, and only incur a $1.4M dead cap hit.

So a good deal as they protected themselves a bit if he doesn't play as well.

Love it! The money is fair IMO, and Doctson is a great player that I am confident will prove to be worth it. I di NOT feel the same way when the Rams signed Noteboom after his small sample size.

I'd still be comfortable going o-line with our 1st round pick. I view the o-line as that important and you can never have enough depth there. But this gives us tons of flexibility at the draft now. Lots of ways to go.

It’s really only a 1 year deal as that’s the only guaranteed money.
Without having a huge signing bonus to pro—rate, this contract is brilliantly designed to extend/restructure in future.

Actually $24M guaranteed. So, they still take a significant hit if they cut him next yr. $11M in dead cap if released pre June 1st, and $9M if released post June 1st.

Sportrac showing it as:

Kevin Dotson signed a 3 year, $48,000,000 contract with the Los Angeles Rams, including a $4,250,000 signing bonus, $15,500,000 guaranteed, and an average annual salary of $16,000,000. In 2024, Dotson will earn a base salary of $7,000,000, a signing bonus of $4,250,000 and a roster bonus of $4,250,000, while carrying a cap hit of $12,666,666 and a dead cap value of $15,500,000.
  • Contract Notes:
    • $11.25M guaranteed at signing (signing bonus + 2024 salary)
    • 2025 salary fully guarantees the 3rd league day of 2025 (injury guaranteed at signing)
    • 2024 Roster Bonus: $4.25M (fully guarantees 3/11/2024)
    • 2025 Roster Bonus: $8.5M (3rd league day of 2025)
    • 2026 Roster Bonus: $8M (3rd league day of 2026)

That's a little different than OTC which has the 24 million guaranteed at signing with another 8 next year

According to Spotrac, they have an out after 2024 with a dead money hit of 2.8 mil. OTC is showing an 11.6 mil dead hit after 2024. And they show a dead hit of 1.4 after 2025 with a 16 mil cap savings. No matter which way you slice it, it really looks like it favors the Rams, depending on the year. But that's an 8.2 mil difference. Somebody better re-check their numbers.
