If that’s the case, that’s dumb.

Is there a better HC to be a QB for in the entire NFL???

Shanahan is very, very good, but I still like McVay better. Payton is very good, but he’s an asshole.

The ownership of both the Jets and Dolphins are dumpster fires...

Unless he just wants to live in NY... it’s just poor reasoning.

We may not be on the list, but some finessing from our players outside of Ramsey may convince him to put us on there. It may be just a coincidence, but all the Goff melodrama coinciding with Watson's trade request is...interesting.

Maaaaan I'm okay with seeking the farm for Watson. Not just because of what landing him will do, but If the niners land him our division is bbq chicken for the next few years lol

Local ESPN (who absolutely hates the Texans and everything they do) says there's really only 2 teams that can pull this off: Jets and Dolphins. No other team really has the assets.

The aints? Hell no. They have no assets.

The shitters? Talked about this yesterday, there's nothing they have to offer. That team is expected to be in the playoffs next year so they don't want a late 20s pick. Unless they want to give them all their picks and Nick Bosa or Fred Warner, George Kittle, etc.

Jets/Dolphins have the high picks and multiple picks this year and next, plus players like Quinnen Williams or Devante Parker or whoever.

With the no trade clause, Watson has control over where he goes. Whichever team it is will be approved by him no matter what compensation that team has......including the Rams.

If the Texans want immediate and Watson agrees. But a team could offer a little more down the road to make up for it.

Cap implications aside, what is the Rams’ “farm”?

Think draft picks and young talent on their first contract.

The Rams have the 57th overall pick (approximate). By comparison, for example, the Jets have the 2nd, 23rd and 34th plus two #1s in 2022.

Who can the Rams offer that Houston would find attractive? It’s not Kupp, Woods, Havenstein or Noteboom. It’s Akers, Jefferson, Darious Williams, Fuller, Joseph-Day.

And by comparison (continuing to use the Jets), although they don’t have a talented/deep roster, the Jets could throw back Quinnen Williams who is more valuable than any two of the Rams’ players I listed above.

Just don’t think the Rams have the assets to compete with a number of teams. And the cap is a separate but real hurdle of its own.

Yeah, the only way the Rams could pull something off is if Watson pulls an Anthony Davis and insists that the only team he’ll play for are the Rams. If he’s open to Miami or the Jets, we can’t compete with their offers.

If your Watson do you want to go to a loser that just unloaded all its picks for the next few years and be a bottom team for 4 more years or a team like the Niners or Rams?

There's NO way we're getting Deshaun. It's fun to talk about, but a far fetched reality.

Aaron Donald

But no seriously, they can offer Goff and I think he brings the value of a late first or a couple of seconds. That would take care of the dead money too. 57 overall would put us at 3 seconds, 2022, 23, 24 firsts. So that equals 3 firsts and 3 seconds OR 4 firsts and 2 seconds depending on how you feel about Goff.

Yeah but that would screw the new GM and coach because of the pressure to win as soon as possible. More so the GM b/c he is Cal and Jack's guy. Cal and Jack will be ran out of town if they still end up losing.

Definitely the Rams or the evil-49ers but NYC and Miami are great cities for a top young QB.

Watson has trade approval and that’s significant but Houston still has some power here. If the Texans can’t get proper value from a team Watson approves, they can just tell him to sit out without pay and give back some bonus $ (which I would guess he would legally have to do).

Would not expect that to happen. Think Watson would show up and be unhappy; and it would be a shit-show.

A couple thoughts. Perhaps a three team trade to get Watson where he wants, and satisfy Houston. Don’t recall any such trades but would guess a 3-way-deal is ok with the NFL.

A ménage-a-trade if you will.

Finally, there is one other factor. The Texans seem like one messed up organization. So anything is possible.
