Okay so laugh all you want. But Havenstein's play has validated everything I've said for years about him. It wasn't just Blythe struggling on that right side. Go ahead and look back and you will see it was both of them. Goff got the shit beat out of him because of them and that is indisputable.
One more year @oldnotdead Havenstein will be a Ram for one more year. Then it will be Warren McClendon.

Okay guys then explain how Crosby made him his bitch in the Raider game. Explain why he consistently got beat by Carlos Dunlap in the Seattle games. Those guys aren't exactly elite talent. Good but hardly elite. Edges with strength and speed will consistently beat him. People on this board bitch about Noteboom but he's been consistently far better than Havenstein whom they ignore because they believe PFF who have proven they don't know shit about evaluating the NFL. PFF is for the media hacks who also don't know what they are seeing as well.

Havenstein is on the roster because of his cap number not because he's that good. This year Rob's being paid like a top 10 RT which he isn't. Next year he will be paid like a top 5 RT at 32 years old. They can't cut him this year because his dead cap is too high. They can't trade him because his contract is out of whack with reality. Next year a post June one release saves them $6.5 M. The only thing you can say about him is that he's durable.

Reality check, you don't think they would have cut him along with all the others this year if they could have? Yup I've been saying for years he wasn't as good as people claimed. His play against good edge talent has proved it in exactly the way I said.

I don't expect either Havenstein or Higbee to be on the team in 2024, both for age and cap the Rams have $1.7M in cap space which is why their draft class is unsigned. They will need over $10M to sign them. The Rams aren't done adjusting their cap. They will have to restructure or cut someone. Higbee is vulnerable because of his age and cap number. But they only clear $6.7M and that might not be enough. But if the new TEs look good then Havenstein could be on the trading block or released next month. Regardless I don't see him on the roster next year.

Yeah he had a bad game against Crosby and Dunlap but he is still a very good run blocker.

He definitely needs help against speed and strength rushers. I have noticed that as well.

In years past, we had Whitworth so we could help out Havenstein in his one area of weakness.

Last year, we did not have a good LT especially once both Noteboom and Jackson went down.

I am not a huge fan of Havenstein but he is better than anyone we had on the roster last year.

This year? Maybe we have a future RT on the roster but we need to stick with Havenstein for now.

I love that the defense, filled with zygotes and preemies bested the offense yesterday… I see this as the D being significantly better than the doomsayers are thinking.

I believe our O will be fine and hearing our D is balling out is so encouraging

Hey, just saying, Crosby is an elite edge. He’s wasted on the horrid Raiders, but he’s a cut above the vast majority of edges.

I agree that Havenstein likely won’t be on this team after this year, but it’s because we either got an elite left tackle in free agency or the draft (therefore bumping A-Jax to right tackle) or - and yes, call me crazy for it - Warren McClendon takes the job. He actually reminds me of a smaller Havenstein in that he wins by technique, understanding of leverage, and solid hands placement than any athletic abilities - and like Havenstein, he’s just strong and quick enough to succeed.

Toss out 2019 and Havenstein has been super reliable, health wise.

Here’s another solid “under the covers” stat…

Including his final year in St. Louis (his rookie year - aka his entire career) he’s had 14 holding penalties. 14!

Thats less than 1 per 10 games played.

False starts? 13. Also less than 1 per 10 games.

Dude is a pro. He’s about as dependable as they come. I love me some Havenstein.

Crosby isn’t elite talent :wow2::laugh4::laugh4::laugh4:

He absolutely is. Considering he’s surrounded by a shit Raiders defense and is chip blocked and doubled most of the time, he’s certainly played at an elite level.

I've already said the Rams have to carry Havenstein one more year due to his cap. They aren't going to carry a 32 year old OT with a $14.7M cap next year when they can release him at worse or trade him at best. Post June 1 release next year nets the Ram's $6.5 M in cap savings.

IMO he will have a short leash on him. If he has another Raider game type debacle IMO he gets pulled. The Raider game highlighted everything I've said about Havenstein, i.e. slow feet getting consistently beat by speed and power. A false start machine as he tries to get an edge.

This year they will have Jackson and probably Thomas behind Havenstein. Jackson IMO is everything Havenstein isn't.
You keep shitting on hav and you end up wrong every single time my guy. I would think you would learn.

I'm sure it's tough because just like Jourdan, they can't report on so many things like formations, reps, depth chart that there's not a lot to report except great individual plays. We get hints. Both them and Jourdan reported that Kendricks was attempting to take charge out there. Hope that shows up in technique on the field cause he really needs to improve there.

Yeah no doubt but I'd be happy with those two shooting the shit post-practice and talking about the handful of noteworthy plays that were made on the day. Give us 15 to 20 minutes of that and Demarco's quips and I'm a happy fan.

Hav in theory is too tall for a tackle so some twitchy, fast, bendy players can take advantage of that. It is only an issue if you don't plan for it and have support in place. You also can use their tendency to overpursue against them and sometimes you have a bad day or get beat but Hav is toward the bottom of the list as far as problems go.

As long as the staff continues to digest tendencies and gameplan in a manner that mitigates the damage of our player's shortcomings,
we stay relatively healthy and payers develop as hoped we will improve

*insert beating a dead horse gif here*

Nobody ever said big Rob was elite. But he's solid and reliable. He doesn't stick around as a starting RT for almost a decade if he wasn't. Don't you get tired of the same old song and dance?
