JLMK when the Rams have the Dallas Offensive Line of the 90's and I won't care if Little Lord Fauntleroy is running the ball.

Yep. A Runningback does not have to be great with a few good run blocking a Olinemen. But a good runningback without any holes to run through can look like crap. That’s why one of my all time favorites is Steven Jackson. He always looked good despite having nothing to work with most of his career. I wish I could have seen what he could do with two or three good run blockers opening holes.

With a good Oline you can run just about any type of runningback with success. But if the offensive line is not able to open holes then smaller more elusive types or smaller faster types are going to get beat up and wear down faster. They’d basically have to have Marshall Faulk type elusiveness to excel.

Henderson has great burst through the line but he’s not going to make his own holes and the holes need to be open enough for him to get past the linebackers to make an impact. He needs the kind of holes that Gurley enjoyed in 2018. Then his speed would shine.

Brown breaks down trying to bulldoze through tiny or non existent holes.

Akers, is the unknown but from all accounts he was very shifty and patient in college and made plays despite having holes. Will bigger, faster NFL defenders be as avoidable as college defenders? Not likely. So offensive scheming will be vital for him to have a lot of success.

This team could have done well to pick another Malcolm Brown type or better later in the draft with this current Oline. If Brown goes down they don’t have that type of runner on the roster. That or the Offensive line has to get drastically better at opening holes.

Emmitt Smith timed as 4.52 not 4.6. He also was a power runner, something Jones hasn't shown. But as den-the-coach said with the line he ran behind he built a HOF career. Would he had done so behind last year's Ram o-line? Hard to run when your first contact is behind the LOS.

Henderson is...(Edited by moderator and original post deleted. Refer to the rules of posting if there is any confusion) ....... was never gonna' see the field anyways. Akers is the starter Day 1

Disagree: I think Henderson sees a lot of playing time as a home run hitter.

Just because he's injured now doesn't mean that he's "horse shit".

Kelly is only 23, but seems like he’d be older after 2 seasons. He was getting talked up yesterday by JB Long and DeMarco.
Yeah and he showed well last year in preseason too. But I think his problem is that he isn't good enough in the passing game to excite McVay.

Not sure where this henderson thing is coming from but I bet Malcolm Brown will be the starter and will share reps with Henderson/Cam Akers. Mcvay has mentioned more of a running back by committee approach.

I bet Malcolm Brown gets the starts until week 5. He will probably be in on obvious passing downs all season.

With you 100% Memento. Henderson in his very limited opportunities, showed excellent vision, the ability
to make tacklers miss, extending runs with his shiftiness and tough running. Those who say he didn't flash
didn't pay attention. Posting a clip of him against 49ers. In those two runs he showed what he is capable of
doing. The only thing stopping this kid is his health.
I am excited about the potential of our backs. However, I wouldn't mind having that CJ Anderson type power back
to go with our current group.

Like what had been posted here again and again Emmit ran behind 1 Hell of a line had a HOF WR TE Qb Coach and had plus the D guys.

Jimmy J built 1 Hell of a team, but.

Imho greatest back in the 80s Peyton and Maybe ever has a runner, besides Brown earlier when D's where smaller slower.

Greatest all around back Faulk this guy could play Rb Wr ,run routes better than 99 percent of Wrs He Really really understood the Martz O.Jmho

Greatest Rb with No Line pure and Simple SJ just look at the 07 line. Omg my high school line was better.

Kelly is PS player, no way he makes the 53. And if Akers isnt ready to start day 1, that would be a shame
