Rams top two needs are corner and edge. Draft top positions in depth align to that. This is not a surprise. These guys are playing chess.

I can't help but to think back to 2020 and 2021 when OL, particularly C was the top need. How accurate was that belief? I agree CB and Edge are needs but I'd also include RB. Like I said before, it wouldn't shock me of they took something other than CB or Edge at #104. These guys have been playing chess.

If a talented 34 tweener edge rusher is not found early in the draft ........

Has anyone given much thought that there is a possibility that this defense can field both a 43 D & 34 D on a moment's notice, now with a true bonafide MLB'er .....what would this forum be like in early Training Camp with only 3 LB'ers & 4 down linemen as the base defense?

Agreed this draft has some super intriguing guys. But also seeing how we've navigated the last few years I really think we add either a CB or Edge still in FA or via trade. There are still some guys out there, and other vets around the league likely to be released. Knowing how Snead operates I would say I'm very confident we dont go into next year with both Hollins AND Rochelle starting. One of them sure competing with a rookie, but I'd bet we add one more vet at either edge or CB.

So who out there is available for trade is the question. I heard the Bears are looking to possibly trade Robert Quinn. Dude had like 18.5 sacks last year. I know anyone we speculate about has their own concerns. Old Bob's would be staying healthy.

The consensus from this group is that cornerbacks are thin. That runs in the exact opposite direction of our early depth analysis of this draft, as cornerbacks were rated as the third deepest position of this draft. How can that be? The Pro Football Talk article is skewed towards teams looking at the early rounds. As is the case with several positions, few prospects in this draft class have the unquestioned profiles of being NFL ready. That actually benefits the Rams somewhat, as the obscurity over who are the standout defensive backs gives the always-prepared Rams draft team an advantage over other teams.

Thats a new take. If true, the last part makes sense; it could benefit the Rams.
