Remember when we were in a hopeless cycle of terrible football, especially at QB? Then Trent Green and Marshall Faulk came to the Rams! Things were gonna turn around.
…then Trent Green went down. My fucking heart sank.

Who knew?

Kurt Warner rescued this franchise and returned them to greatness.

I vividly remember listening to St.Louis Radio stream on my PC of that preseason game where Green went down. I was sick to my stomach because he was something like 29 of 32 in preseason or something absurd like that. They were scoring 14-20 points in the first half of every preseason game and were looking good.

I remember telling my wife, that, "Well, there goes the season!" Like you said, who knew. Although there was a contingent of Rams fans who kept saying Warner could play based on his NFL Europe MVP and were high on him.

I was watching when he Green went down. Sickening because I had been watching Green the previous season at Washington, thinking this guy is pretty good.

A guy I knew was a season ticket holder to the San Jose Sabre Cats. He told me he had seen Warner play and “that dude is bad!”
I was skeptical. Arena league? Are you kidding?

Who knew?

The Trent Green Injury ... Kurt Warner Miracle ... 1999 Dream Season ... reminded me of my little story.

I woke-up on a Sunday morning, put-on ESPN for scores and (hopefully) a couple Rams' highlights of the previous night's pre-season games. Saw the Green season-ending injury ... and was absolutely crushed.

My wife (we were newlyweds) asks me what's wrong, and I tell her the Rams' season just ended because they lost their starting-QB. She sympathizes and asks me about their reserve QB. I dejectedly reply that he is an absolute nobody ... his name is Kurt Warner.

Trying her best to be optimistic (which I truly appreciated), my bride says ... 'Maybe Warner will be good'.
I explain how Football just doesn't work that way ... EVER. Nothing could console me. It was a rough day.

Well we all know how Great ... Fantastic ... Amazing ... things worked-out.

To this day ... almost 100% ... whenever I state something with certainty, my wife replies ... 'Remember Warner'.
