This is a good mood for the 9ers as much as those words make me sick. This allows them to protect Garapalo from throwing long and holding the ball for more than 2 secs
So the niners are gonna pay this running back 12 million per season for 3 years? That's a lot of jack for an oft-injured, getting older running back. And he's small. Wait until next year when Tre Lance takes over... he'll feel like he's with Carolina again.
I doubt he can stay healthy, but if he does it could be bad news for us. But like someone else mentioned, they have rolled the dice big time between Lance, CMC and basically no draft this year.
Well, at least this pretty much eliminates the possibility of OBJ going to the niners. I was worried about that as well.

Yes he did. 58 yards on their first possession (a FG) and 51 yards on their last possession (after the game was decided). Just 41 yards on the 8 possessions in between. He makes them better but will he remain healthy and if so, can he play QB if JG goes down?

May have something to do with the fact that PJ Walker was the QB and CMC was / is their only offensive weapon. Who you try to take away....Pj Walker's passing game or CMC?

As many said, looks like SF is ALL IN. Let's see if it turns out like the '21 Rams or '22 Broncos. Clearly, many Ram fans think it's a done deal. I'm in the minority.

Trust me I want to rationalize it too but no way am I showing that sort of jealousy and fear. Even if we wipe that last drive out and it's 51 yards, he had 107 yards, what we wouldn't do for that production from our RB's.
A McCaffery player and a Shanahan coach seems like a pairing that was destined to happen anyway. I'm sure they have a lot of familiarity with each other thanks to their dad's connections. It's potentially a good move for the Whiners but will depend on his health. I don't see this as a move that gets them to the Super Bowl but they definitely have more of a chance now. With Jimmy's inability to be a good QB other than dinking and dunking this fits perfectly with what they have to work with so it helps soften a weakness.
Like I said in the other trade thread (we like making lots of multiple threads these days), we just didn't have the draft capital to compete and they did. They had three 3rd rounders in 23 plus they actually had a 4th which we don't. It just wasn't going to happen for us. I don't mind trading draft picks but we need to at least have a draft still lol.
