This is somewhat true but we are not getting sacked because we are trying to throw deep... a lot of the sacks are nearly instant.

Also Goff 7.5 yards per attempt and 6.5 his last two years here...

Stafford sitting at 5.5 at the moment - stafford had 35 completions and 28 last game....

We are doing a lot of short passes out of necessity, and it still is hard to get anything going.

These sacks are of the crushing variety and this is part of the reason coops being overused it's basically the only reciever he can anticipate where he will be even under duress.

Stafford is what 35 and getting lit up and look at just the pressures yesterday then the sacks.

Goff was sacked 33 times for a high at a young age and how many of those did we bitch that he was holding it way to long. Stafford is at 20+ and the season isn't halfway yet he is on pace for almost 70 plus sacks. I hate that the Stafford Goff conversation is even a thing anymore and I love Goff. The Superbowl erased any and all comparisons. We have to move on.

Did you guys hear Mcvay yesterday besides the coach speak you could see he was upset. Like visibly upset not anger but like about to cry lol cause Stafford is getting absolutely crushed can't be taken for granted that he gets up and plays even when he wasn't sacked shot after shot. When a coach says we need to get him help that's the signal of front office do something cause seasons over if you don't. Let alone I'm concerned about long term if this was Brady 3 years ago he probably retires!!!!

McVay can look in the mirror to some extent here. He allowed himself to enter a season short on OL and the injuries fucked him. We discussed this OL room at length during the offseason and it was clear we were a little bit short on talent. Having that one more real player in that room would be a big difference right about now.

But also he can blame himself for abandoning the run. He is not a guy who believes in it. He's also not like Martz thank God but he is definitely a guy who prefers to dictate to defenses through the air not on the ground. And if he wants Stafford to survive he is going to have to make himself run the goddamn fucking football.

Running it vs Dallas would have kept us in it longer. Still probably a loss but you never know. Either way allowing them to get a few big stops and bully you into quitting on the run game is ridiculous. But with McVay it seems like he needs to get to a certain anger level before he goes all in with the run. And maybe I'm wrong but I think by the time he's done reviewing Dallas he'll be where he needs to be.

Question is whether the players can deliver it. It does go back to that. But I think we have some guys who can open run game holes if the entire offense is focused to do that as a gameplan. And I think Carolina is about to get that gameplan. They've been better than Dallas vs the run but overall are a worse defense, average vs the run and bottom third in points allowed. So I think the Rams are about to play a good game up front.

I think his comments were geared for line help but wouldn't shock me if a running back or Williams if healthy gets a huge push.

Maybe so. I am just operating off of history with him. Generally when he hits these windows it's the run game that digs him out.

I agree 1000% but you know what you are talking about do you think if we had say Christian McCaffrey's rt now or even Derek Henry lol it would be a huge help like season altering I mean I took two of the best there and yes there were some absolute great holes that Akers could have run out of the stadium as well as Henderson on his pass catch and when you have both announcers calling both out Akers on that one where an 18 wheeler would have made it through and then Hendo on that pass where they both said he just ran into the oppositions hands and gave up a ton of open real estate.
I agree and if Mcvay goes that route I trust him course we don't have Sony and Brown won't be that guy that said he looked scared for Stafford in the presser and said we need to get Matthew help so don't know if it's just the o-line rbs and receivers. I imagine it's the first two. I'm always going to ride with this regime they earned it so I'm with you. I know if we see the holes they must definitely see them lol

The o-line pass pro has not been good. In fact at times its been pretty horrific. That said, Stafford has held the ball too long a bunch of times and has played pretty lousy overall.
Stafford has always been a QB that holds the ball long and takes hits because of it, but usually he can avoid the sacks better,

This year he is just getting steamrolled.

I think I'm probably the only guy that's not mad. We are playing with the back ups of back ups on our oline. If this was our starting line, I'd be livid. But it's not. If we saw we were going against ANY team with this many weaknesses on the oline, or anywhere in general, we'd expect a fairly confident win. So what are we expecting when it comes to us?

I'd rather deal with the injuries now then later. The hardest part of our schedule is after the bye, when we're going to need all hands on deck.

maybe in the 1st game....

none of his turnovers last game were from holding onto the ball too long...

The first fumble was the maybe the one he was most at fault on... and he literally was Bum rushed right after the snap.

The interception he was running for his life on 3rd and 15 and just had to chuck it and pray.... he barely even got turned around to look at the defense.

The last fumble was 1:35 again pressure almost immediately and he couldn't take the sack... he tried to get the throw off.

Why in the name of all things holy didn't Akers run up the fricken middle? How is McVay's coaching and play calling going to work when something this easy is being goofed up? It was a beautiful call just horrible execution.

Are you suggesting Edwards could have sustained his block?

Spot on he is getting sacked and pressured at an inconceivable rate.

Its pretty crazy the team still hasn't made ATLEAST 1 new roster acquisition to the O-line this week...I have no idea why Bobby Evans is still on this team...

I believe the trade deadline falls on or about Nov. 1'st, ... I imagine right now several lesser teams are still reluctant to part with players they believe give them the best opportunities to win, but with 3 more weeks until the deadline, the teams not going anywhere may start looking at players that are becoming free agents after the season ends to see if they can't garner a draft pick for him rather than just lose them for no compensation at all. jmo.

I was thinking our RB's were nothing more than JAG's. But now I'm thinking that might be a more of a compliment than anything else.
