Cignetti In The Booth

Six of one, half dozen of the other. I think, with the technology they use today, it probably doesn't make a ton of difference. It's more personal preference than anything. Does the OC like to look his QBs, RBs, WRs in the eyes when he is trying to get a point across? Does he like to squeeze the shoulder of the guy he is talking to for added effect? Does he like to get in the ear of a ref when he sees something he wants addressed? Wherever Cignetti is most comfortable is where I want him on game day. JUST WIN BABY!!!!!

This ^^^. They get a much better view of what's happening on the field. Some think they need to be on the field thinking they can communicate better with the players. That's what the phones are for on the sidelines. I would like to see GW in the booth too.

Another @CoachO prediction that came true. That man notices things I would never think to look for. He saw that they were relaying plays to the field.
 
Great point by the OP to point that out, keep forgetting about that. It's funny how coordinators act like it's no big deal, but you cannot tell me it's the same thing to look at printouts on the sideline. No way. The guy with the overall strat and gameplan getting to see what is happening live and relaying that to the QB and staff has to be better for calling plays, not to mention a team's ability to formulate and implement adjustments in-game.

Oh and Alaskan using the term Schottier in a sentence... good stuff! :p

Nobody liked Wang except DYVKX. He loves the Wang just can't help himself. He loves the Wang in the morning loves Wang for lunch and he really loves the Wang before he goes to sleep.
 
I like the coordinators in the booth. The view. The concentration. The ability to maximize the use of photos and visual aids.

They should let the coordinator select the plays with an XBOX controller.

Why is this worth a discussion. For all I know he could be in a bath tub while making calls. It is up to cignetti's comfort level:sleep:

Um, Merlin, this is 2015... they use tablets with live feeds from several angles including aerial.

Yep #1 in offense by yards and points in '99.
And when he moved down to the sidelines in 2000? Still #1 in yards and points. And again in 2001.
Doesn't really seem like booth vs. sideline played much of a role.

And who are the best offenses in the NFL these days? NE, Pittsburgh, New Orleans, Philidelphia, GB, Dallas? Aren't pretty much all of those teams calling the offense from the sideline?

More and more, coordinators are calling the plays from the sidelines...

All teams, however, have someone in the booth; either the OC or someone helping the OC, or both.

Those teams are certainly more mature offensively than the Rams offense under Cignetti, so I'd rather he start this way at the very least.
