It's good to have a Philosopher on the Forum Board.Apples, oranges, potatoes, pine cones. They’re all vegetables so what’s the difference?
A Good Philosopher would be even better.

I think this guy is deserving of his own thread.
He looked like a developing monster in preseason last year.
And now he gets cut and isn't even invited back for the practice squad!
Thoughts?
I agree, great thread but I had to chuckle at some of the comments! Gee, don’t shoot the messengerI think this guy is deserving of his own thread.

I was surprised and a little disappointed Garrett did not make the roster, or the Practice Squad ... Yet.If he is not picked up he will most definitely (almost certainly) be placed on the practice squad. Don’t take my word for it. Take McVay’s (from last year) and Snead’s in the interview that followed roster cuts
...
I can’t help thinking he is better prospect than some already on the PS, don’t you agree?
Great post. Perhaps he needed some time to reflect if he is to grasp the nettle. With his talent he should be someone we wish to develop but perhaps as you say he hasn’t displayed the right attitudeI honestly think it was more mental(ME) , is more of the reason
got cut.I had him all fired up ready
to go against Joe Noteboom on 1 on 1’s.
I swear Mcvay heard it & saw what was going on towards the end of the drill. Mcvay didn’t like something & the play call was taking a little long.
It was weird because both players were locked in. I kept going get him Garrett.Come on Chris you’ve got him.
The play was right at the endzone in front of a crowd.Sean Mcvay called for the next drill, but as he did it he came up behind Noteboom & said that’s it. Play over next drill.
Dude(Garrett) has talent, but I don’t think he is a WE player.Mcvay really plays into that. IMO B. Hopkins was in Mcvay’s Dog House. He just had to much talent & higher contract(draft pick).
Whitley has more heart & drive. He has more size as well, plus is going to play special teams.
D. Hardy as well, plus he is going to play more cover at OLB.He has that speed & agility to do that.
—Chris Garrett is a pure Pass Rusher who doesn’t have the right size to hold up on the edge cs the run. He also disappears a lot on the field. Doesn’t dial in & stay focused snap in & snap out.
True...if you watch other pre-season games, a lot of teams have young, raw, promising pass rushers trying to make their team. These guys shine against 2nd string OLs that just might not match up with a raw athlete like that, but vet starters can. So these young edge guys need a lot of development and there are plenty out there and few figure out how to beat those savvy vets.A lot of people on this forum overrate Rams players. They feel every player has Pro Bowl potential.

I think the Rams pay guys to actually evaluate what's out there. And picking last in the waiver claim process makes it tough to claim a player that they may had interest in.Well - The weird question I have is how do we know what is really out there ? I can’t name have the NFL 2nd string players out there.
The weird part of the question is do The Rams really know either & at what price to move players on & off your Practice Squad roster ?
The Rams claimed how many NFL players from other teams & how many NFL teams claimed Rams Players?
How long does it take to put in a claim on a player? Every player they are last at selecting? If there is 50 players to select from. The Rams are always last to claim.I think the Rams pay guys to actually evaluate what's out there. Just trying to get a grasp on what that is? Where was Cinncy when they claimed OJ Howard ? Not saying they should have put a claim on him.
IMO The Rams really like there roster & had to make some tough cuts.
I have said this many times. I still believe he will grow even bigger. No, but during past years, especially since we lost Morgan Fox, some have suggested that Lewis might compete as a 5T lineman, he has the size & speed.
And they also believe if we were to trade those players we'd get a 2nd or 3rd rounder!!A lot of people on this forum overrate Rams players. They feel every player has Pro Bowl potential.
