I know it’s against the odds and unlikely but I have a good feeling about this game. Seahawks are coming off a big game win with extra rest but they are aware that they have an even bigger game coming up against the Niners next weekend. This is a classic trap game scenario. I think the Seahawks stumble against Carolina, Niners defeat the Bears at home and the Seahawks knock off the Niners to finish the season while the Rams take care of business in their final 2 games. Rams would get the Number 1 seed, Bears would be the 2 seed and face the Packers for a 3rd time while the Niners would be heading to Philadelphia and Seattle would be facing either the Panthers again or the Bucs.

What do you think?

Yeah, it could happen. Seattle is an odd team. I know they have won a lot of games by many points, but two wins by a total of three points is not sustainable to win a SB. Do you really trust Darnold in the playoffs? Even with the possible #1 seed?

Anything is possible but if so the route to the SB will more likely go through Santa Clara! I hate to say this but the 49ers will then beat the Bears for the 1st seed!

We need to get ourselves ready for the playoffs and that will probably include resting players from here on in. It’s more important to be healthy than somehow win the division against all odds

Definitely looking for some form of divine intervention. Really hoping both the Niners and Seahawks go down this weekend but didn’t want to be too greedy. Carolina is a sneaky team. I didn’t think they had a chance against the Rams but they took advantage of the Rams mistakes and seemed to play the better teams they play at home tough. Obviously the Rams have to take care of their own business on Monday against a suddenly rejuvenated Falcons team so there’s still a lot of variables. If the Rams win out they are guaranteed the 5 seed at worst regardless of what happens with the Niners and the Hawks. That would mean they likely dodge a cold weather game in the first round unless Tampa or Carolina had a sudden cold spell. Don’t really want to play in Chicago or Philly right off the bat because my childhood memories of the Rams coming up short so many times in the playoffs in Bloomington Minnesota still haunt me. I remember hearing the announcers opening the game with the phrase “It’s blitzing cold here in Minnesota “ and I would know were screwed.

Both SEA games are away. SEA should win @CAR rather easily but could lose @SF. it’s clear to beat Seattle you have to pressure the shit out of Darnold.
I’m not as worried about the Rams being #1, #5 or #6 seed as I am in how well they play the last 2 games.

The issue with that last game is even if one of SF or Srattle lose this week, that losing team will have little incentive in week 18, assuming the Rams beat Atlanta. Because that team, who lost week 17, has almost no shot to win the division unless the Cards beat the Rams. So assuming the Rams win this week, it would come down to the Rams and whichever team wins in week 17, in terms of winning the NFC West.

I know, but can you imagine if you're the HC of a team that rests a bunch of players for the last game because you think you've no chance of winning the division, and then the Rams lose to Arizona?

I think both teams will have to go hard at it.
