Agreed
The overall weakest link of the 2021 top Ram 7 OL'ers (OL'ers who played a major part they played in earning the Rams their Championship) was OG David Edwards.
Ref. Austin Corbett, as an
overall package, AC has excellent NFL OL value.
AC's time here for most of 3 seasons demonstrated he is a true NFL professional. IMO it's obvious AW's influence had leaked all over him.
AC may not be overly strong in any phase of his game however when compared to what we have seen for many seasons throughout the NFL, OL'ers are mostly abused weekly by just good defenders....
.AC earned his payday.
We certainly do agree here on
Coleman Shelton's part in winning this SB Championship.
While I would agree with you, neither
David Edwards/
Joseph Noteboom has performed over the last 3 seasons in their
run blocking assignments to rate them good. No real consistent success has been seen. You would have to agree both are still young & learning.
This will be
JN's first NFL season being assigned to start in his natural best OL position. The LT post is now clearly under his control. I see no concerns.
JN is a very smart guy & will figure out how to improve his run blocking. Let's check back in this time next season & see if I need to BBQ some crow.
Ref.
DE will invariably always be better @ pass blocking than run blocking due to his overlength.
DE is at a disadvantage being close to 6-7 inches tall & fact he was always was an OT before he was drafted.
DE is a legit OT forced into playing in an interior. You just do not often see good starting OG's in run blocking that are
DE's height. Going up against those NT'types in the run game is normally not successful.
If you want to point towards the reason that
DE is in this position look no further than our GM/HC
since both have been together (2017)
ZERO drafting of OG's.
