I don’t think LaFleur hired a first time DC I could see him hiring Gus Bradley or somebody like that.Or Pleasant, it sounds like Raheem was the 3rd finalist along with MLF and Kubiak in Arizona.
Both of them know both sides of our team. Our division has so many former Rams in them. Mike knows our offense while Raheem knows our defense.
I don’t care I was concerned that Jim Schwartz would shake lose from Cleveland. Our division has so many former Rams in them. Mike knows our offense while Raheem knows our defense.
Possible but I think he knows Pleasant well enough to make that decision.I don’t think LaFleur hired a first time DC I could see him hiring Gus Bradley or somebody like that.
That’s true, but I also believe he might zero in on Don “Wink” Martindale too as McVay has mentioned his struggles against Wink.Possible but I think he knows Pleasant well enough to make that decision.
I hope as a Rams fan he hires Martindale I don't rate him as high as some do.That’s true, but I also believe he might zero in on Don “Wink” Martindale too as McVay has mentioned his struggles against Wink.
Wouldn’t we be able to block that if Nate was promoted to OC? Can’t leave if it’s a lateral move.I hope he doesn’t go with LaFleur
Depends on if MLF lets him call plays that's the trump card basically.Wouldn’t we be able to block that if Nate was promoted to OC? Can’t leave if it’s a lateral move.
Although I’m not sure McVay would force him if Nate truly wanted to leave. Doubt anyone would want to leave McVay/LARs OC job for the cardinals OC job. That would be dumb.
Maybe. It hasn’t hurt any of the other Ram OCs in getting a HC job. I think the McVay shine just is way too bright and it overtakes the negative of not calling plays.Depends on if MLF lets him call plays that's the trump card basically.
I'm not saying it for hurting Scheelhaase or not. You can't block your OC/DC from getting a job with another team if they'll call plays when you don't let them.Maybe. And cards are not likely to do well next year. Whereas Rams should be locked and loaded offensively again.
I think Scheelchasse knows his best chsnce of becoming a HC is staying in LA under McVay. Hell, LaFleur just got a job as has every OC that has ever worked under McVay. Matt Lafluer (via Titans) Zach Taylor, Kevin O'Connell, Mike LaFluer.I'm not saying it for hurting Scheelhaase or not. You can't block your OC/DC from getting a job with another team if they'll call plays when you don't let them.
So if we make Scheelhaase our OC without calling plays he can interview and get hired elsewhere. The play calling negates the lateral move.
Interesting. I wasn’t aware of that detail. I thought it was simply your job title. Hence sometimes guys getting an assistant coordinator / HC title.I'm not saying it for hurting Scheelhaase or not. I think you can block it because it's not technically a promotion, even if you take on more duties. This happened with Kevin O'Connell. Rams blocked him from making a lateral move (probably because they learned from what happened with Matt Lafluer).I'm not saying it for hurting Scheelhaase or not. Assistant HC is another level of title and I think it with the Rooney rule offers the same benefits/compensation as an OC/DC/ST coach but I could be wrong.Interesting. I wasn’t aware of that detail. I thought it was simply your job title. Hence sometimes guys getting an assistant coordinator / HC title.
