I know he deserves it, and that much of the NFL world is going ape shit right now. But the MFer cheated, multiple times. And fuck that whole "if you're not cheating you're not trying" BS. Can you see a parent-teacher conference when the teacher praises little Billy for constantly cheating, er, ah, "trying"? Parents would be so proud. :eyeroll:

I'm a big skeptic and tend to dismiss almost all "conspiracy theories." But there is a LOT of circumstantial evidence supporting the claim that the Pats taped the Rams' practices before SB 36. (Not to mention Deflategate and the fines and the taping of opponents signals).

Belichick is a cheater of the highest order. He's also a gifted coach. If he has to wait a couple years to get in, fine. Let him have an asterisk next to his name.

I think the cheating scandals have bought his coaching credentials into question. People may rightly ask if he hadn’t cheated or had access to opposition game plans, would he have been so ‘successful’?

So I have no issue with that cheating baby door missing out on first ballot

HOF voters only expose themselves and their process with that bullshit. Petty, vindictive losers like Bill Polian still sucking lemons over Spygate campaigning to keep other people out.

Terrell Owens was right.

Sorry to those who do not just look at the football part of the equation.

Belichick deserves to be a first ballot hall of famer.

Did he try to cheat? Maybe, he won.

Do I hate what happened to the Rams? Absolutely. Rams deserved the SB imo.

Is Belichick one of the best HCs of all-time. Absolutely. No debate.

Evaluate on what he did in the NFL. Easy. First ballot HF.

Too many HF voters don't just look at the football part of the equation. Ridiculous.

As many have said, he cheated multiple times. For those upset it's not about football, that is about football. Combine that with the fact before and after Brady he proved to be a regular joe. Throw in his immature behavior after losses and clearly, the voters slapped him in the face like most fans wanted to when he acted like that. He'll get a bust. I wouldn't be surprised if there's one already in a closet somewhere.

If that's your opinion, criticize the NFL. Belichick took his team to the top, stayed there. In an era of salary cap, where all are pushed to being equal.

Did he push the limits of what the NFL allowed absolutely. Do I hate that the NFL allowed this, absolutely.

Blame the NFL if you want.

Maybe, I see similarities with Rose and MLB Hall of fame. Rose broke the law, but was one of the best baseball players ever. Rose should have been a first ballot hall of famer as well.

Yes, similarities with Rose and Bonds, for sure. I'm all for it and I commend the voters.

Rose didn't know how serious his offense was and his defense was his arrogance. Same with Bonds.

He established a dynasty based on cheating and cheated to preserve it.

Arrogance is a terrible thing.

Rose had to die to get in.......
Bonds may have to do the same......
Belichick will be in very soon.....and will display his arrogance once again. Oh boy, can't wait to hear that speech. For sure there will be comments about the snub OR he won't show up at all (which is equally possible due to his arrogance and immaturity he displayed throughout his career).

What is ridiculous is all these talking heads attempting to out-do each other with their level of shock and consternation, when most probably saw this coming based on the way he was viewed by the media.....revered and yet ridiculous. It's like that scene in the classic Casablanca.......
"I'm shocked, shocked to find there is gambling going on here"
"Your winnings sir"
"Thank you"

Bonds and Rose are different.

Rose gambled. It did not influence what he did on the field. Bonds cheated with performance enhancing drugs.
Keeping Bonds out I understand. Rose I don't.

Sports should not be about feelings, who we like, etc. Leave that to politics.

Belichick pushed the limits of what we as fans believe is right. The NFL disagreed with our opinion.
Belichick deserves to be in the HF.

If you want my opinions of what I think of him as a person, etc. This forum has places to discuss such opinions. On the football field, Belichick was one of the best ever. Hard to dispute this.

Am I happy that he has not gotten a second job, his results at North Carolina? Good questions. That said, my opinion on these should have nothing to do with him getting into the HF.

Pete Rose bet on baseball the cardinal sin and he agreed to a ban because they probably had information on him betting against his team he manged. Bonds, well, you know that story, but was it for the good of the game?

Bill Belichick can kiss my ass, his cutoff sweatshirt he has a much class as a ham sandwich at a banquet. I hope his girlfriend does his induction speech.

You're off on this. What did Rose, Bonds and Belichick all share? Disrespect for the game. PERIOD.

Breaking the rules is disrespect for the rules.
Disrespect for the rules is disrespect for the game.

Like I added in my edit to my post:

In short, he was an arrogant asshole (like Bonds &Rose) who probably thought the game needed him more than he needed the game. Well surprise, surprise!! FUCK BELICHICK!!

There's something wrong (mentally) with a man who can smile and talk openly after a win but turns into a 6 year old after a loss. It's not fucking normal.

Without Tom Brady... Bellicheat was very average. However, I believe Patrick Mahomes knows more about football than I do. Fuck Bill Bellicheat but he deserves to be in the hall.

Nobody believes Belichick shouldn't be in the Hall of Fame. There certainly are some fans who believe he shouldn't be a first ballot HOFer based on his cheating (and personality). What's the chances Robert Kraft made it known, don't put me in, in the same class as that asshole?

What I want to know is, where were all these fans and media now up in arms, when Eddie DiBartolo didn't make it on the first ballot? 5 Lombardi's, a dynasty that lasted as long as Belichick's. What's the reason he wasn't a first ballot HOFer?

Under the table payments to Brent Jones and Steve Young?
Circumventing the salary cap.

I think Brady would have been successful on any of the 32 NFL teams. If the Jets somehow drafted him they would have won multiple Super Bowls and rex dummy Ryan would be known as a great coach instead of a clown on a pre game show.
