What is the best move to position him to be a starter again?
I am trying to think of an answer to your question…
Is going to Carolina as the starter going to do that? Or a backup on a quality team where he could rebuild his image, perhaps get a few starts and impress with a stronger team?
Or punt returner? But seriously I am not excited by the Rams backup QB situation. Its the Rams. Gonna convert him to an edge rusher.

Absolutely not going to die on the hill defending Mayfield, however it was a well known fact last season he was hurt the majority of last season and forced himself to play and had surgery for his shoulder this offseason. The Browns have one of the top running games in football....good WRs, good RBs, a very good offensive line....they even had a top 10 -12 defense last year.
It's not "on Baker alone". But their passing game has lagged behind the last three years. He hasn't developed a productive relationship with his receivers and hasn't fully taken advantage of the talent around him.
Their cap situation is shit and they just traded a high end CB because they couldn’t pay him.I don't know their cap situation but I wouldnt be surprised if the Giants went after Baker. They have a good runningback in Saquon and a last I knew they had a decent defense. They also have a promising reciever in Toney. It would be a good spot for Mayfield and I believe it would be an upgrade for the Giants.
The Giants haven't won more than six games a season in the last five years. They changed head coach and i think they move on from Jones after this year anyway. I think Daniel Jones is a free agent after this year and unless the Giants do so poorly that they end up drafting at the top Mayfield seems like the better option. The NFCE is not good so it would be a good move to help with competing and possibly winning that division.
The mystery team could be a diversion from the Browns to get Seattle and Carolina off their asses to finalize a deal.
I like this one. Would be a totally Giants move.I don't know their cap situation but I wouldnt be surprised if the Giants went after Baker. If I am a giants fan, I see what the Rams are doing and I say the wouldn't pay him. Giants fan would be right.Their cap situation is shit and they just traded a high end CB because they couldn’t pay him.
They won’t either way since they are purging people and still in cap hell, they’ve had to make a ton of moves just to get where they are now.If I am a giants fan, I see what the Rams are doing and I say the wouldn't pay him. Giants fan would be right.
Actually I have hope for Daniel Jones being a future Ram. Jones has never had a superior offensive mind in his corner, he's bright, athletic and has a NFL arm. That's the type of guy I would like to bring in as a backup. But if I had a choice between Jones and Mayfield I’d choose mayfield, a healthy one that is.
I think you’re right and I think Jones would do well here but not sure if financially with our payroll we wouldn’t just find a QB in this next draft in a flooded QB market. Some decent ones are bound to drop near our top picks ( that is if we don’t trade them!) lolActually I have hope for Daniel Jones being a future Ram. I wonder if they ate the contract??? That's next to nothing for a starting QB. I don't care if you love or hate him.Traded to Panthers for 2024 conditional 5th round pick.
