Will depend on if a team can trade up to that first pick before he declares. Not sure the dates for those deadlines are, but teams can agree to a trade before the league year starts. So if a team he likes, secures that top pick (assuming he is a slam dunk for the first pick), he probably comes out.
It would be real hard for this situation to fall our way. In theory anyone bad enough to "earn" the 1st overall pick is in dire need of a young Franchise Quarterback. However, if one of these poor teams is faced with THIS equation, it can happen:
1. Hold on to 1st overall pick, Arch doesn't come out. Draft Allar or Klubnik or Nussmeier.
OR:
2. Tell Arch you'll trade his rights to Rams, team receives from Rams TWO 2026 1st Rounders, 2027 1st Rounder and change (Stetson Bennett?)
Hopefully Atlanta stinks and their pick is as high as possible (obviously). Im fixin for our pick to be 32.
The other less likelier thing we would need to happen is have a good team that's not looking to change Quarterbacks (like a Chargers or Bengals) to suffer a season ending injury to QB or other major players that gives them a freak number one overall pick scenario, where they remain with their already great QB's (Herbert and Burrow) while taking the Rams THREE 1st Round picks bag.
The problem with THIS scenario is Cleveland is also holding two 2026 1st Rounders and their picks are likely to be higher than ours.
Of course, Arch is telling teams it's Rams or staying in school, take your pick.
And yes, if we win the Super Bowl with Matthew Stafford I'm STILL making this trade for Arch Manning.
