I was really looking forward to having A’Shawn be the center piece of this D and helping AD become more disruptive than he already is. This is the only area I’m really worried outside of ILB position but I know having studs up front help the ILB and our run D up the gut exponentially. I’m not sold on SJD or the other dude at NT.

I seen he had a potential cardiovascular issue but he’s not on the PuP list for 8 weeks?

Anybody heard or read Anything?

I really felt this was the key with all things considered to ensure us a deep run I the playoffs, maybe another SB.

I was also really excited about the the Rams adding Robinson! It is a HUGE disappointment about him and Terrell Lewis (Another Defensive Player I was looking forward to seeing this season!!!)! Hopefully, We will get to see those two players getting healthy and getting some playing time SOONER THAN LATER!!!

Just said about the same in another thread. Too bad we don't have A'Shawn this week to smash the Ewok. He will become the key to the run defense. Hopefully we can survive the first part of the schedule, and watch out for the D when they come back.

IMO when we get A'Shawn and Lewis back our defense will take it to another level.

Curious and concerning to me we've seen absolutely Zero press conferences from DC Staley as well. Are they hiding this guy??

Yeah idk, think we might of made a mistake with Lewis. I hope to hell im wrong though! No denying his potential.

So concerned about Gaines and Kiser up the middle. Our saving grace could be Kiser one good quality and strength is his Ru

wonder if we bring Natrez Patrick back?

You’re getting suspended for that abomination! Give me the helm number 1!

I was also hoping Greg Gaines might be able to help the d-line this year. He was supposed to be the prototypical nose tackle.
I hear you man, IDK if I see that happening, do you? Something about him doesn't seem right to me. A'Shawn sure as hell does!

Yea DT Gaines got some good hype last year without ever playing a pro snap. He's still a mystery for the 2020 season.

A'shawn was a solid signing but by a fluke injury hes' not available to start the season. saaaaad news.

Terrell Lewis was one of the most injury plagued top college draft prospects but the Rams rolled the dice on him and he's not available for the same injuries that caused him to slip.

What can you do? ....... Move on and play the next man up cliche.

BTW, did they designate who the four "protected" practice squad guys are?

And what exactly does "protected" mean? Are they untouchable from other teams poaching them?

Gaines was a good run stuffer in college. He had some pass rush ability too, but mostly was drafted as a nose. I was excited to see him picked and last year really felt they should have given him more snaps at nose than SJD to further his development.

He didn't fail his physical, so it's probably not career threatening.

As I said before, if he had COVID and he may not know as some folks show now or such minor symptoms as to be unaware... he could have a case of myocarditis... which is serious, but treatable. Just takes time for the anti-inflammatories to work.

And if he has to go on steroids for it, there are procedures for that so as to not get a performance enhancing substance ban.

What we do know is that by putting him on the NFI as opposed to coming to an injury settlement, that it's not so serious that they don't think he can play.

The idea that he passed a physical and then they discovered it lends itself well to it being a case of myocarditis although there are others which may crop up which just require a med regimen to be in place.

But yeah, if he needed surgery or this was career threatening, unless there were cap issues with coming to an injury settlement, then we can deduce that he's gonna play for us at some point this year unless his heart doesn't respond to treatment.
