If the Rams decide to sign AJ they could still draft a LT up high if one falls to them, and start AJ & Hav in 2025 on the edges with the kid chilling on the bench. This ensures they're not dealing with a kid LT giving up free runs at Stafford's back. And it gives them some flexibility, as AJ can move to RT when Hav leaves after the 2025 season. Or if the kid isn't up for the blindside AJ stays at LT and the kid takes RT.
Problem with that strategy is it requires a LT to fall to them, and they look like they're gonna be in that wildcard hopeful group so we're talking high teens. Now maybe they can hit on a 3rd or 4th round project, but that's pretty hard to do with the most important spot on the line. It happens but it's not like the Rams are gifted at selecting OL or anything. Also Hav is one of those rare dudes who has that blue collar mentality, i.e. he isn't looking to make as much as he can but rather has always been paid at a level the Rams appreciate him at. But that said I do figure we're looking at a new RT as well as having a new LT when Hav's contract runs out.
I would love to see the Rams take a LT high in this draft. But it just feels unlikely right now because they can get more impact for 2025's season by going corner or wideout and adding speed to this roster. And because once again they're not in that top ten range where you have a reasonable chance of getting one of those dancing bear MFers.
