About as predictable as, as soon as I pay cash for a new car and plan a vacation, my heating and air conditioning goes out and has to be replaced.Yeah I'm not gonna act like an internet doctor here. I admit I have no idea about his condition and the risk factors. My answer is put his oversized ass on blood thinners. But goddamn it is predictable, is it not, that this shit instantly arises right after the Rams sign him.
Expected to play when is the question though. Opening night or just some time in 2025. He missed half the season the last time this happened, right? He and We will be fine as the article clearly stated Alaric is still expected to play. My friend who has dealt with blood clots, who I called after reading the article, said generally once you’ve had blood clot you will always have to keep treating the condition even if you don’t currently have any.
So this is just something he dealing with, same as last year. The article is just click bait, nothing to see here.
I have serious blood clot issues. I currently have 19-20 clots that I know of in my body. Two .5" from my heart and one in each jugular.I wonder if his suspension had to do with medication he was using to try and prevent this
I admire the guy, got some rare disorder that makes most people just give up and he keeps moving forward
He wasn't a good option either.I would have called that ex-cowpoke LT who just retired and offered him a one year shot at a ring. But he won't change his mind at this point.
The die is cast. There aren't any good options available to save us. Just gotta hope we get a full slate of games out of him.
All I can say is God bless and hope and pray he has a successful, full life. My brother lost his right leg last year to an inoperable blood clot. He has moved on him with high spirits and I hope this never happens to Alaric. On May 19th I also lost my house in a fire and I now have a much different perspective on life's offerings. I can only wish him the best. Got to assume the Humphries signing had a lot to do with this.
That’s awful. That can’t be an easy situation. I’ve had more than my share of medical problems. I definitely can sympathize with your situation.I have serious blood clot issues. I currently have 19-20 clots that I know of in my body. Two .5" from my heart and one in each jugular.
I know all the medications that are currently on the market. None of them will trigger a violation of the wellness policy. The real concern is if he has Leiden Factor 5 (what I have), it's the most aggressive form of blood clotting. If he has this, Alaric and the Rams are in trouble. His body will continue to clot even on an anticoagulant. I have been on them for 10 years and continue to clot. Diet and exercise help but continued trauma to his body will always put him in serious danger.
Sorry I am coming across as a know it all on this topic. I lost my career, house, vehicle and retirement from developing blood clots in my early 40s. I have met with two of the top doctors in the nation regarding clotting factors. I had to learn about survival on the go with them.
This is why Chris Bosh (NBA) had to retire. Alaric should not be flying across the country and definitely not over seas for a football game.
If he plays this year don't be surprised if he's a scratch from the London trip.
I think I love you.He and We will be fine as the article clearly stated Alaric is still expected to play. Good question.Expected to play when is the question though. Opening night or just some time in 2025. He missed half the season the last time this happened, right?
I believe contact is the issue so he may be able to workout and such. But no reps.Good question.
I would add a follow up:
Just how much conditioning can he do while this is being monitored?
