unlikely as Akers said that he doesn’t think it’s best for his future to play again this year
Exactly. And I'll add that the Rams holding on to him makes it weirder. They always move on decisively. The entire thing stinks. The whole thing just doesnt make sense.
Played 3 years at FSU on some terrible teams, and still produced
Slow start with Rams, turns it on mid season and shows up in playoffs
Terrible injury, reports ranged from missing a full year to career ending
Kid busts his ass to get back on the field. Amazes everyone with his recovery
Shows the flashes of brilliance, and has some careless fumbles....
New season, new outlook, and the whole thing just seemed to crumble
How can a kid with the work ethic to come back from that injury turn around and "quit" on the team
Man, it all just doesnt add up

I hear ya, but at what point is keeping him (and paying him) cutting off one's nose to spite their face? They could use another RB who will see the field and since his salary isnt guaranteed they could save a couple bucks. I guess the real question is if they have grounds to put him on a suspension list, where he wouldnt be paid. In any event, its reminding me a bit too much of Tre Mason where one year he was a rising star and then before you knew it, he went bat shit crazyWeird shit.
But... if this is an insubordination thing... I wouldn't reward him by just cutting him loose to sign with another team for the rest of the season.
That's dumb, on my part.. but.. fuck if I'm letting him jump-start next part of his career that way.
What you’re saying makes complete sense.I hear ya, but at what point is keeping him (and paying him) cutting off one's nose to spite their face? Yeah I don't see how this guy ever plays for them again. Especially after the comments yesterday.Wtf? We are embarrassing ourselves with the handling of the situation.
